Network devices aren't sexy. And once again www is so much damn slower than irc when it comes to "news".
OMG LOL, girls do sometimes _so_ funny things. ROFLMAOZEDONG!
oh god, part of me died after seeing that last link.

As to the dreamhack or whatever pics, I just have to repeat what I said in the oneliner, pictures of girls posing with switches and ATA cables down their bra is not teh hot, it's teh wierd! If it turns you on, then I suggest visiting one of the following links Link Link Link while running your favourite pr0n movie in windowed "always-on-top" mode. :p

omg, there had to be a CROWD of girls at that demoparty!!! (I suppose it's not probable that ALL the girls present would could be persuaded to pose with network equipment). Teh scene is not what it used to be in my days hehe

Demoparty? HELLO?!? Not even the commercial whore Buster 'Buzzie' Boozman was wanting to go to DHW.
Have some respect for the organizers though - they prolly had to pay a lot for the girls to be able to take those photos.

Bah Garg, you've become a weiner since you're a party organizer yourself. Some of these girls don't even look like they were expensive... ;)
there were only 2 releases at dh?

This is the results from the world's largest computer festival,
DreamHack 2005. The Scene was held by "datasektionen" at KTH.
Oh really? Abyss told us the same about Assembly and Gloom told us afterwards that TG is even bigger. Anyway, there were not only 2 releases, DHW had _4_ demos and lots of other stuff. Check the results file and glöp the rest. :)

Probably - but consider the looks/price ratios... :)

MadenMann: oww, I was under a false impression that an event discussed on pouet _is_ a demoparty :-P Seriously though I was away from the scene for some 5 years so I don't know what's hot and what't not these days, so please bear with me...

Please have a look at the line under the logo. The first part gives you the information about who has done that logo, the second part gives some random information:
Quote:
logo done by kusma :: pouët != scene && scene != pouët

Ok... Most of us don't give a shit about bigger parties which were scene related in the history but remain as a farce. Some of us even like to bash them. The Party went down that way already, DH is still on the way, TG tries to come back but has a hard one due to Computerman and Breakpoint. Assembly is still able to attract sceners and gamers. Northern Panamericanenses are still trying to beat the Europeans (search for eurotrash) while the southern Panamericanenses were successful. The same goes for the Japanese even if the don't have "real" demoparties yet. The dutch release still crap and rob is still jarig. ...and I am pouets pervert stalker, said someone.

Thanks a bunch MM

I have a plan to come to my office on the weekend, put a nV 5200FX from my workstation into a P4/2.4G server, install WinXP on a spare disk, and watch some newschool demos. I'll download the scene.org award winners for the past years, and some of the top thumb-ups prods from poutët lists. Any tips where I can find new demos worth watching?

skrebbel: I surely hope to.
OTOH if you go to http://www.scene.pl, and find "parties" box on the right side near the bottom it says:
polska:
- brak
ie no parties coming up in Poland :-(. Which means that either scene in poland or that site is not doing good... I was told elsewhere that scene.pl is teh place of Polish scen on the net, which means that I might need to go abroad to see some demos live.

The polish scene is alive. Last year there were at least 3 polish parties, more than in some other continents. ;)

Oh, wait, there's an interesting message on OJuice about demoparties...
