2 Compos added to Pilgrimage!

category: general [glöplog]

We have officially added 2 new Compos to this years Pilgrimage demo party.

http://pilgrimage.scene.org/2004/compos.html

We've also made arrangments to allow for "unofficial" compos. If you see something that simply needs to be offered, contact me directly and we can make arrangements.
We're proud to announce that 2600SLC is the first group to be coordinating such an event; the Pilgrimage Scavenger Hunt. :)

Blender Compo
- A fastmade competition with a twist!
- At the start of the party we will announce 3 randomly selected words. For example: "POLKA", "MUSHROOM", and "CASINO".
- The works of art can be anything that falls in the above categories of demo, graphics, textmode or music while creatively making use of the announced keywords.

where's the twist? :D

I dunno, do most fastmade compos have a pre-requisite of meeting 3 strange keywords? :-)

At the parties I've attended fastmades typically have a finite amount of time (24 hrs, 1 hour, etc) but not many other limitations.

well not limited to 3 words (can be more or less), but yeah, e.g. "fucking hedgehogs", "grass", "death" and "red torus" in case of Function2003 :)

and your timeframe is finite too since you DO have a deadline, yes? :D

Exactly right. In the case of Pilgrimage, the victi--err, contestants will be given the duration of the party to make use of the poor choice of words they are given. :-)

there used to be an ansi compo on efnet irc called blender that worked exactly like that years ago (like 96-98 or something), hence the name of the compo.
apparently radman didn't know that it's not exactly a new idea in the demoscene either :)
rm, Don't forget the Blender revival -- BLENDER KOMBAT! :)

Great, now people are gonna think we're talking to ourself. :)
