Cryptoburners

Whats the deal, are they still in the game or long gone. I always loved the name, do anyone know who has the rights to it? I mean maybe some of you know one of them, if their not still active.

what hitchy said.
that logo is a copy tho - at least back when i still used to play RPG i had several issues of RPG magazines and this was the cover of Runa #5 (an issue that was actually impossible to get ;)

I was talking about the demo which is a great classic, not the logo...

Several of the old norwegian members (heatseeker, vishnu +++) went into Funcom in the early nineties, and I guess some of them are still working there..
I somewhat had the idea that cryptoburners where french. Oh well, you learn all the time. thanks slemmy :)

Gargaj, and i learned from you too :)

iblis: the group was founded by norwegians in '88.. :)
Yep, the French section has only been created in 1992.
But afar, when we started on, the Nowegians didn't do many demos but slides shows and HeatSeeker worked on his protracker 3, which he abandonned in 1994.

So if i where to revive Cryptoburners and make it a productive unit again (or is it that allready?) it would be crown i would need to talk to?

It's not to hog others reputation, it's just such a wikkid name.l And it's a shame it''s not being used to produce under anymore. But mabe they are, and im just missing out...again :P

Thanks for clearing that up Slemmy and Doh. :)

Notice that the protracker 3.2 replay (as bugged as his others 3.x versions) is the one which has been used for implementation of XM format. That's why no PC tracker can play a MOD acurately, regardless of sample format.

Btw, Doh do you still do music? I used to and still do love your celtic inspired sound.

I still do occasionally, but as a funny matching event, I stopped doing celtic sounding stuff since I left Cryptoburners to retire in Dreamdealers. ;)
You can check my site if needed.

Nobody seemed to answer my question though, is that because you dont know, or because you think it would be close to blasphemy to wake up the name of cryptoburners?
added on the 2004-11-30 14:50:08 by NoahR NoahR
I think you should stay away from it, unless you manage to reactivate some of the old members...
but then again, I'm quite sure you could get shane to sign up and help you do really cool prods..
Lol. thats not nice slemmy, what have i done to you? Im not trying to mock the group, but lets face it. The scene is quickly running out of cool names. Everything has been taken . And from the day i heard the name cryptoburners i fell in love with it. But if theres just one active member left (that would be crown) maybe i can speak talk him into letting me join. And then that would be the right way about it.

I would never just start the group if they have decided it's dead, and it should stay dead. But what is more honorable to a groupname than someone, 10 years after wants to make use of the name again?

I do get your point though...

you havent done anything to me, I'm just expressing my opinions in the pouet-fashion we all know & love..
"the scene is quickly running out of cool names" is just another way of saying "I'm not creative enough to come up with something new".

but it's really no biggie to me, I already have an old groupname to desecrate...
u4ia appears on ircnet #trax like once every year still. he was in cryptoburners afaik. great musician, too.

Indeed. But werent you in that group from nearly the beginning?

Most new group names are just plain lame. I loved the old kind of names. Scoopex, Phenomena, Paradox. Not limb ninja, pimpbruigade, federation against nature. Kids on acid and what not. It has nothing to do with being creative.
But its a matter of personal pref i guess.

Mind you im not talking about those groups releases only the names.
