First (as I know) demoscene podcast. Need assistance.

category: general [glöplog]
Hey gang,

I'm looking for some great demoscene tunes. I'm currently volunteering at a radio station in Canada called CJSW. My goal is to put together a short miniseries about:

a) Indepentant music on the net
b) demoscene music
c) anything generally geeky about music

We are currently supporting over 500K listeners on the FM dial and our listenership online world wide is guessable.

I have about 200 demoscene/online label tracks at my disposal. I'm looking for tracks that are "listenable" to the average music enthusist. Perhaps you have some faves? If so please list them. Links to these tracks or websites would be essential.

If this is successful I can pitch weekly show for the FM dial and bring our music and culture to the airwaves.

anything by comfort.fit, really..

may I recommend you Demovibes, imo those compilations roxor the sox0rz. You could get a few hints from there, concerning what to play. :)

ps: Can you give me any background on Enough Records or point me in the right direction?
Podcasting is a term coined when the use of RSS and other syndication technologies became popular for distributing audio content for mobile devices. Today podcasting is a more generic term that is evolving as people understand what it means.

Now I'm really anti-ipod and I want an OGG player! Not an MP3 player!

God, I hope not. That would mean my anti-popular stance against those stupid players would become a living-in-your-moms-basement-living off-jolt-and-pizza stance :(

yeah it's so cool to be really anti just because a majority of people likes something. because people can't just like something because it's good, we all know that.

Whoa! I really managed to slide the thread off-track :( .. What I meant was to critize the fact that most people are a bit too "sheep" when it comes to marketing jargon and overhyping. Sort of selling the same shit over and over again with a new wrapping.

Anyway.. Patrick, I'd recommend anything that's released after 2000. If you're not that strict with the material being demoscene-related check out some of my remixes from http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?AID=81550..

Oh and please post links to the streams when you have them online :)

You overestimate your worth, all it needs is a couple of jerks on posting on the internet :)
