I have some nice brown spots inside the housing of my pc to remind me that playing with fsb settings can result in nice brownish smoke :)
(It needed about 24 hours to cool down (whatever) enough to start working again... But works reliably since that (it happened more than 2 years ago), although i don't play with the fsb anymore :)

Is there a problem of knocking down someones computer when you stick the USB disk during boot, instead of waiting to get in the OS and then? Damn. I tried to show my programm to my professor and her computer didn't started, though I think it was another problem with her hardware. But she thought I put the USB too fast :). Perhaps it is,. though I was crazy to show her my programm, though I didn't. I only showed the written work which I didn't wrote entirely ;P. I feel weird about that. Now, would it harm a computer if I put a usb stick too early during boot instead of waiting for a bit? I don't think so,. perhaps her computer was defuncted days ago...

Seriously, optimus, this one made me burst into laughter :)

optimus: some computers will boot from usb if you plug one of those flash disks in. Of course, if you put it in too early, it should still turn on eventually, but its better to put it in a bit later when its ready and willing.

I think her computer had problems, because it made that triple beep sound that needs probably gfx card or something else is off. We tried to restart it several times. But I should have not put the usb early because she had another idea then that perhaps it was my fault..
