People in Germany will celebrate this event very much, some of them will even reach a state of coma after boozing too much.
yay!

I would start by having a beer.

Then I would work on something demo related all day.

At least that's MY plan.
Shouldn't towel day be April 2nd, really? Or February 11th?

It's effin wankopedia, it's not like it's CORRECT or AUTHORITATIVE.
Where I'm from, towel day is definitely February 11th. And the tradition started before 2001, which makes May 25th an even more meaningless date than it was already.

I'm sure Douglas Adams would have preferred to still be around today, rather than die on the 25th of May 2001, but he isn't.

So some folks have made it Towel Day.

Why did they make a Towel day on the 11th of February?

He didn't die May 25th 2001, go read your homework.

I guess you don't realize what's special with that date? Go read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as well, and maybe, somehow, someday you'll understand.

See, this is why you don't listen to shit from Wankopedia. Someone sent me a thing from Wankopedia that said that Douglas Adams died on that day, so it was made towel day.

As I remember the day he died, as we were all very sad (and reading his non-fiction work about the Galapagos islands) I figured, yeah, it was about that time.

As for the 11th of February being in the guide, the phrases "Go stick your head in a pig" and "unpleasantly like being drunk" come to mind. Along with "Think I'll take that wall down!" But the 11th of February, well...

I mean it's a DATE for god's sake. When the hell have THEY mattered? Is there a demoparty on that day? Then why would I care?

Now, I'm going to take my mattress for a flollop.
Because it is the 42nd day of the year. (Although that date was not mentioned in the book.)

from Wikipedia:
Quote:
Towel Day is celebrated every May 25 as a tribute by fans of the late author Douglas Adams. The commemoration was first held in 2001, two weeks after his death on May 11, and since then has been extended to an annual event.

Maybe just learning to read would be enough?

I do the same thing with Wankopedia 'information' that I do with EP 'information.'
Why May 25th!? I think the answer is 42...

with a little bit of research i think you'll find that there is a severe lacking in the amount of months containing that many days.

also, pulling a '42'-joke is really, really, really not funny.

BTW, this year May 25th was a tuesday.
And someone, without any knowledge of the deeper meaning of 42 and tuesdays, predicted the end of the world for that day (more or less).
Not funny, just a coincidence.
