All though at the first day of my recent job, when I sent out an e-mail saying hi to everybody, one of the non-sceners came in and said "So wait, your name is actually not really Okkie?" :)

So wait, your name is actually not really Okkie?

Speaking as an employer, Scamp has leading -- showing passion is very important to make yourself stand out from the crowd. However, the Optimus way of listing your handle, group name, prods etc. is a big no-no. Keep it simple: mention it, don't make a big deal about it.. unless whoever is interviewing you asks you to tell more about it of course.

I mention the demoscene in my current CV, in some rough words what it's about (realtime computer animation) and what I do there. nothing more.
in 3 out of 4 times I was asked some more about it, and so far it was always received positive. I think it's good to mention it, but as gloom said: don't write too much.

ASEP: Of course I'll have to wait till June for the results I think. Surprisingly I think I did better at the second test (pedagogic) than the first on mathematics. I am not very good at solving maths problems that require some tricks you can't think at time. Although maybe I am over the base in this one too. Whatever, when the rate is 1 at 14, you need to write much more than what I did to be selected I think.

Hmm,. I just send my CV in few companies. 3 of the 5 could be closer to what I do. One a little outside my town but does some CAD in OpenGL, another one was surprisingly even asking for x86 assembly, low level programming, or hacking/cracking (I think they developed a CD protection scheme called laserlock, it's a known company here but many people told me they are assholes :) and another does some medical imaging app and some pluggins for a 4D voxel programm or something. Of course listening to my brother, I should have sent to 50-100 companies but they ask about things I don't even know (What the fuck is ERP?). Ok, I will continue the search but now I send some emails and got at ease I can continue coding demos too..
