i think this is a great idea, there needs to be more moderated forums/blogs that cover the creative processes behind demos! expect it to be ripped by magic for hugi though!

Comparing the blogs off messrs navis and smash, smash's is way more rockstar. Not to say that's a bad thing - it's the only blog I've bothered to read in ages. Something like a mix of that and a bit about the experience of making a big demo would rule.

I'm sorry Navis -- I respect ASD, you and your demos but blogging about "the progress of your new production", even IF people are gonna read it, is a bit too much rockstar.

this is exactly like their website, but easier to update, so i don't see it
Rockstar?? This is show biz, ofcourse you have to be a bit of a rockstar.
Seems to me that we've gone from:
"oh and FUCKINGS to the lamers who won't do 5 level parallel scrolling on the Atari STE" to:

- "would you like a little sprinkling of particles with your rotating torus sir?"

exactly, the rockstar tone in mine is completely intentional. :)

Nothing wrong with acting like a rockstar, if you've got the substance to back it up. And if you haven't, then nobody will bother to read your blog in the first place, so it doesn't really matter...

Yeah, go ahed with your idea, it would be interesting.

Just one thing: anyone knows why white characters on black background are giving me headaches on my monitor? An html changer for firefox or google chrome would be useful, indeed.

Gloom: just kidding ofcourse.. whats up with you reacting on the person.?You do know better dont you?

Damn, I knew I should have learned doing 5 level parallel scrolling on my STE :(

I wonder how many sceners around have blogs. I sure have one as well, but never posted the link anywhere, was more like a kind of a easy way to write down things to share with some colleagues/friends.

I can understand why people use tweater, it's easy to find nothing to write in 140 characters than finding uninteresting ideas to fill a complete blog article :)

Navis, now you've got SPEED OMA's permission, you can carry on writing your blog! Congrats!
Smash, after admitting rock star status: no permission from SPEED OMA. Carry on!

talking about spoilers, since i guessed right last time about the content of Rupture, here is my attempt at guessing what the upcoming asd demo shall feature: cyborg baboons wearing world war 2 parachutes and tulips, a depiction of how an egyptian pyramid wouldve looked like if the builders helt the building plan upsidedown and the intestines of a 3-legged labrador from beirut. i won't share more cos that would ruin the experience!
What maali said but raytraced on the gpu.

The intestines are rendered with GPU raytracing, yes.
