• @EvilOne: don't you worry buddy, I am a trained professional. We'll merge the optimized IL right into the player binary on export to give it that nice lean finish we all yearn for. For all means and purposes that's much closer to hard coding an effect than what we've done until now ;)

• @gargaj: you're absolutely right of course. This one is not built to run well on slow machines. The render loop in some parts just runs way too many Lua instructions and our specific VM is not particularly fast running these instructions (but very excellent when it comes to interop with .NET). We've done benchmarks on various VMs and profiling on our current tech and there are no low hanging fruits left.
  
  That's not the end of the world though since I'm excited to go hybrid soon. I'll work on integrating C# scripting now for future releases to prevent this specific bottleneck and we'll see how it goes from there.
