- First of all: Ripping music sucks.
And this is no "nerd" point of view, that's for the most part that i still have this small fate in the fact that demo sceners are CREATIVE and do things THEMSELVES. Gosh, if you were out for the ultimate artistic experience, you'd used XSI and AfterEffects and released it as DivX. This way, the frame rate would be even higher.
If asking a scene musician if he can do a Fear Factory-alike track in two mmonths results in slightly lesser music quality, that's completely ok. The demo may be only place 5 instad of 3 and may only have 95% popularity instead of 99%, but the fact that it's YOUR demo and not that of SOMEONE ELSE (if Fear Factory's music label ever chose to sue your ass off, they would definitely succeed, as the wonderful tight integration of music and visuals make every "fair use" discussion quite senseless). Fact is, you distibuted a commercial track all over the net (and placed it on many uncommercial and otherwise legal FTP sites) without any consent from the copyright owners. Any i know, Fear Factory will most certainly rather profit from this than lose anything, but you could've at least ASKED. Or give credits. Or anything.
So next time, go to the musician of your choice, get some good guitarists and do it yourself. It will definitely feel better. For you, for the musician, for the scene and for all the bands that you didn't rip off.
The reason why i give a "thumbs up" in spite of this rant is simply that i love this demo.

- demo Windows fr-05: konsum by Farbrausch [web]
- We use the AVI only to have a convenient way to compress many still images in only little space and decompress them. It isn't "played" at all; just consider it an archive full of JPGs - that would be the better comparison.
and btw JPGs - OleLoadPicture rocks (even if IE3.0 (or above) is req'd to load JPGs with it :)

- There wasn't a Mekka&Symposium in 1996, as phoenix pointed out, but i found the information that this demo was released (and ranked 1st) at Convention '96, not M&S 96. Could somebody change this? Analogue? :)

- Optimus, coding for a GUS is really smaller than SB code, as you don't have to write mixing routines...
... anyway, this one rocks hard. Congratz :)

- It's "Omniscent" because of the reference to the "Descent" title... hey, the sanction members never knew enough English to recognize that they named their intro "All-Smell" this way *ggg*
