- demo ZX Enhanced NedoDemo 2 by alone coder & Mayhem & HOOY-PROGRAM [web]
- @AloneCoder: I have seen many different tunnels in other demos for sure back then, but the actual idea originated while I was brainstorming what kind of full pixel effects I can "push" on screen in 50FPS with the single-slightly-modified-line like in copper bars, etc... If I would start from "tunnel" side idea, I would be probably stuck to round/twisted/dotted ones, which were more common, and difficult to achieve at ZX48 (! no double buffering needed for this one when done properly) in 50FPS.
The final demo contains a bit retarded LDI version (not sure if 25FPS or smaller resolution in 50FPS) because the PC emulators at that time were already used a lot to replay ZX demos and they had serious problems with pusp/pop vs interrupt timing emulation occasionally resulting in corrupted screen or crash under emulator.
Pity I'm too lazy now to actually code something, I still have ideas for technically impressive things in my head (although the laziness is bigger problem, the minor problem is the 3.5MHz is not that much, and most of the on-the-technical-edge stuff doesn't look good to people who don't understand the challenge, so those ideas are not *that* great :(, because the best ideas must also look good :) )
Good luck in your effort and have a nice time while coding. - isokadded on the 2014-03-08 22:32:55

- Quite nice to watch.
BTW, I agree this should be a "ZX enhanced" category, mixing these with oldschool ZX/ZX+/128 feels weird to me.
@AloneCoder: that tunnel... did you got inspiration from our Yes/7Gods, or did you got the idea on your own? :) - rulezadded on the 2014-03-07 23:35:13

- Gargaj: that code compare would look even more stunning if the code would be relocated to same address and the diff would try harder to identify similar blocks (like "mov si,0x1371" is same in both, but the diff is happy about 0x13 byte match sooner, so it miss the better match).
@coder: anyway, if you learnt something from it, still worth it. :) One day you will do your own thing for sure. Just hurry up, there's limited amount of possible intros in 32-256B space ;) :D - sucksadded on the 2012-06-04 17:30:33
