- ok, ok, i had hoped to keep this a secret, but if it gets out... i might as well give you the full story:
"tse" was mostly existing alongside "giants" (my democrew in the early 90s), and was created to make extra pocketmoney for giants' east division members by selling cracked software at ridiculous prices to unsuspecting locals. there's also pc and amiga catalogue disks from the same label, as well as a paper list with snes and megadrive cracks, which we could all copy with our blitz cables.
tse ultimately collapsed after we finished high school. at that point in time, our catalogue consisted of nearly 7000 disks, most of which had been copied/sold numerous times. we sold the entire catalogue to martin (a loyal customer), and most of us used our shares of the profit to finance a 3 week holiday in sweden. (the year before we went to spain, i think, but i might be confusing those trips).
in retrospect, i'm not proud of what we did in those days. not because we sold cracked software as such- there was no other way to acquire these programs in our area, anyway... in fact, i'm feeling bad about the prices we asked. a lot of people were forced to pay us 10 guilders a disk or more, simply because they had no modem and no mailcontacts. people who did have contacts were charged less (better to make a small profit than none at all). so basically, what we did was ripping people off as hard as we could. :( - isokadded on the 2008-04-17 13:53:30
