- I like how they completely discard common rendering paradigms and stick to their crude tech and even cruder (but very distinct and recognizable) style.
The downside is, that it's hardly real time anymore. Especially the first part seems to be very demanding on the cpu, running at 5 fps or so on a fairly recent i3. Maybe some proper multi-threading could help.
Quote:Some people enjoy watching the same batch of 10+ year old effects ported to every 20+ year old platform they can find. Other people enjoy watching winamp plugins demos. I don't see why one is more credible than the other. Either way, if it works for you and you can get something out of it, good for you. :)this simply looks like a bunch of buggy winamp visualizers layered on top of eachother in one big mess

- I like the subdued mood. Too long perhaps?

- demo Windows The Wind Under My Wings by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- psonice: It runs on a god damn netbook (ok, _dual_ core atom + nvidia ion), albeit rather slowly (but watchable 20fps or so at 720x480), no glitches either. It also runs on a really slow ATI (51xx), not great, but still. :)
Well, the demo is... lacking. :) Care, details, coherence, basically everything ASD demos seem to be all about. The music is not good. The vocals are out of place and add cheesiness where no cheesiness is needed. The "sideways cam" parts look dull, the sync/flickering seems random and hence broken. I did enjoy the escher inspired parts and the very beginning/end. The first ASD demo in a very long time that really needs final version. :) - isokadded on the 2010-07-29 14:56:59
- demo Windows MacOSX Intel Float by VS* [web]
- Well, there are several demos without binaries on pouet. This and the last moppi one just being the most visible examples.

- Maybe you could pick a cc-licensed, equally mellow track and make an alternative version? As it is, it's a "ghost demo"/wild demo without binaries and I think that's kinda unfortunate.

- 4k Windows Baghdad by Nordic Conspiracy
- Seemingly simple, but splendid execution. Music rocks for 4k.

- 64k Windows Exo by Inque [web]
- Maybe so, but it's still crashing after the config dialog (win7-64, dx10 level gfx card)

- demo Windows Lost Signal by Desire [web]
- The idea is alright (early 90's Amiga demo lookalike on PC), but dang is it fugly and sloppily executed.

- The most interesting thing about this is not the prod, but the strange c/lua source.
