- keops: after reboot, with all apps closed, and single screen... same error. At least since the reboot when it's closed down (I have to kill it from task manager) I get my screen back :) I'll try it on a brand new, top-of-the-range vista laptop that's sat next to me acting as a decoration (yes, the apps it needs to run don't work on vista, and no drivers for XP, thank you HP!) right now.
Bit of info incase you feel like figuring out the problem (probably not worth it if it's only me in the whole world that can't run it):
Pc is dual xeon 3ghz, 2gb ram, quadro fx 1000 video card. XP + latest updates, and most recent (or it was last week) drivers.
There was more debug info, but I didn't manage to save it before getting the screen back on, but this bit was left in the event log:
Faulting application eqx_-_frameskool_-_bp2007_64k_invit.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x04ff7c55. - isokadded on the 2007-03-12 16:46:27

- keops: no opengl apps were running. Just tried again, had the same error, but this time even more weird. If I changed the screen res of the 'black' screen, it would clear the black. But if I changed back to the right res, the black returns. Odd!
Next, I tried with the second screen disabled. Same error. Had to reboot as I couldn't see what I was doing. And to add to the weirdness, the 'loading windows' screen appears on both monitors during boot.. but this time the colours were all wrong on the monitor I ran the demo on. WTF?! This is either the strangest bug since the 'enabling anisotropic filtering causes a motion blur effect on text in normal apps' bug i managed to find ages back, or my video card is about to die!
Will now try after the reboot.... - isokadded on the 2007-03-12 16:23:51

- And... it crashed. Got an error half way through the loading bar, then when it dropped back to windows, my left-hand monitor stayed black. Very odd too - the cursor appeared fine, but nothing else, and if I dragged a window to that monitor, it turned that black too, and it stayed black even after it was dragged back. Scary spreading blackness! Um.. anyway, probably due to my dual monitor setup or something. Will try it again later, and give a bit more info if it might be a genuine bug.

- The credits for 'coding' had me laughing for a while, so it was a perversely enjoyable watch for me. Sadly, I don't think that was intentional, so the thumb points south.

- Tough one... some great 2d art, but the rest was pretty poor. The module at the start was particularly painful, remember most people don't watch demos on a TV with mono sound now ;-) Reducing the channel separation a bit would make it bearable.
Overall then.. the pig gets it, cause I liked the 2d. - isokadded on the 2007-03-05 14:36:59

- Excellent, nice 8bit style palette (for the first half at least), and a few different screens.

- It runs like shit on my A500! Any chance of a fix? But seriously, well done guys for still looking in on this and helping people out so long after the demo was released. Some would have left it forgotten (and possibly half finished too ;)

- Shit, I spend ages trying to kkapture this and only get a black screen, and now I find it's a bug if you choose 16:9!
Ryg: will you be adding more screen resolutions (i.e. 16:9/10 ones :) when you fix it? And will the video memory requirements come down a bit? Not important of course so long as the demo is still watchable, but would be nice. Also, I've not read through all the comments, but are the 'no music' comments referring to a bug, or lack of melody in the audio? No point testing for the latter. - isokadded on the 2007-02-28 13:59:11

- Some excellent graphics, and the tune is great, but as a demo it didn't really catch me.
