- 1k Windows 1k-sw-raytrace'em all by Tristar & Red Sector Inc. [web]
- Instead of whining about Intel processors, why don't you bother to figure out what the slowdown is, and try to come up with a fix? There are plenty of raytracers around that work fine on P4s.

- demo Java Artnouveau by Bohemiq
- Yes, apparently the compo was flash/dthml only, not Java, the rules didn't specifically mention Java, so we didn't know if it was allowed or not.
It was also entered into the combined compo at ASM. But it wasn't good enough to make preselection there. - isokadded on the 2005-01-28 01:47:38

- demo Windows Lumotronik by Portal Process
- Nice demo, sadly ruined a bit by OpenGL for us ATi owners.
At least it works, unlike certain other demos *cough*Kolor*cough*. Will get a thumb if it works well ;) - isokadded on the 2004-09-29 03:37:21

- demo Windows Planet Risk by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- This demo should have won.
I love the ASD style, smooth transitions, lovely music... And their demos just keep getting better! - rulezadded on the 2004-08-08 19:01:48
- 64k Windows Paradise by Rgba [web]
- A for effort, I guess. Lots of scenes, some nice models (I really liked the rhinos).
But somehow it didn't really work out, I think. The music didn't really fit, and putting a cheap glow-effect over everything didn't enhance the experience either imho.
The whole thing was also very slow.
Looking forward to the next intro. - rulezadded on the 2004-07-25 14:31:55

- demo Java Croissant 9 by Bohemiq
- Thanks for your comments.
I have prepared a 'lo-fi' script, which you can download here. Replace the original croissant9.xml in the croissant9-directory with this one, to disable specular lighting and bilinear filtering.
This should improve performance quite a bit on 'low end' machines.
If it still isn't fast enough, you can freely change the resolution either on the commandline or in the html (the width and height fields in the applet-tag), or even scale down the textures in the croissant9-directory.
I hope that people with PCs of less than 2 GHz will be able to enjoy the demo aswell now. - isokadded on the 2003-09-01 17:57:04
