• additional quirk: seems that demo writes logs to stdout/stderr without checking videomode, and some cards that support BIOS text print functions in VESA modes (i.e. NVidia) cause all this stuff to appear on screen, making loading painfully slow (so run "demo.exe > nul" to avoid this :)
