  download adjusted accordingly. plane counting was done with a series of screenshots in DOSBOX, then "exporting to web devices" with Photoshop, to count the actual different colors with the GIF save dialog. everything above 20+ planes seems highly theoretical though ;) Oh well, and platform compatibility suffered a bit, but what can you do ;)
  
  @wbc\\bz7 : maximum 256 planes is right (until now xD), but with default VGA palette you can see more than 64. i have ideas for making it zoom in 32 bytes, but nothing ready yet ;)
