- demo GamePark GP2X Tyropite by optimus
- I like the gouraud cubes and the "antialiased" text

- demo Windows Rupture by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- These demos have been amongst the most "compatible" ones, at least until last year. I can't predict future hardware and drivers, in the same sense that glide based demos won't run on modern hardware.

- I like it. Strange.

- demo Windows hedron by Division
- I guess somebody found that option in latest wings3d release (for splitting meshes). On second viewing it looses a lot. Too chaotic and too "I come from mode $13 world and just discovered that in windows I now have a 24bit palette at my disposal so lets do an ASD demo circa 2004 (and 2005 and 2006)". The thumb up still stands for your progress over previous years.

- demo Windows Spacecut by Carillon & Cyberiad [web]
- by the way, I still don't get how this demo only managed to win over the second placed demo (which is, ehm, rather second rate derivative) by a couple of hundred votes. I just don't get it. The moral of the story is: throw in bloom, coder colors and electric guitars and they'll vote for anything :-)).

- demo Windows Spacecut by Carillon & Cyberiad [web]
- Spacecut stands head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. There is not much to criticize:
* The 4 vignettes could have been linked together: well, they're not, it not the first or the last demo we see without transitions. It's ok, of course a tighter demo would elevate this to stratospheric levels (more like agenda)
* Filesize: don't make me laugh, this is completely irrelevant.
* Effects: very interesting, I still don't get the spacecut effect - maybe somebody care to explain? I know that there is some sort of CSG with geometry (?) to fill the holes with a cap, but I can't see it. Wouldn't you get the same effect by painting the backward facing triangles with a fixed color? (I hope I'm making sense).
* Dancing guy: great, I wish there were two of them kind of competing. Reminds me a lot of previous fr+cncd demos, going back to a 64k from 2005 or so.
* Is the direction brilliant or not?: rather just well done. I believe you could have done more with the content, without making it look too similar to myriads of vimeo stuff. On the other hand, what is there already is very detailed with a ( I believe) good sense of timing.
* Music is growing on me, I'm not an expert in dubstep or whatever it's called, but it's fit for purpose.

- demo Windows hedron by Division
- Your best demo so far. Some toning down of colors wouldn't hurt though.

- demo Windows Escape by Pyrotech
- The visuals don't fit together and one of the reasons is this strange post-processing effect on top. It is also quite indistinguishable from previous attempts from Pyrotech.
But as a whole it is the kind of demo that looks good in a big competition. - isokadded on the 2012-08-05 11:12:24
- demo Windows Metamorf II by Satori [web]
- Wow! Legendary!
What I can say... it is captivating, I've watched a few times already. The music. The flat shading. The images from the reactor. The letters synching with the music.
The madness. Pure genius.
Ah, come to Assembly again next year please. - rulezadded on the 2012-08-05 11:08:58
- 64k Amiga AGA Aurum Intra Computatrum by Software Failure [web]
- look very nice on the big screen. Nice colors and pixelized as it should be.
