- @Photon, actually I'm very satisfied with how the stuff I explored with this demo turned out. Primarily animation (including animation tech), camerawork, pacing/storytelling, direction, sound. Not to mention the actual content and its apparent effects on the audience, this is fascinating.
It was a lot of fun to implement a scene graph from scratch within the tool as well, accompanied by a custom exporter. Reinventing the wheel, but why not, small refresher for my math skillz.
Most of the time, that's what creating demoscene prods is about for me: having tons of fun, learning some new things, investigating topics I want to learn more about, doing experimental stuff and seeing how the crowd reacts to it. Working within absurd restrictions (NOT using tooll, but using something that's practically work in progress) presented the challenge of finding ways to create something interesting regardless of forced graphical simplicity.
@everyone: thanks for the interesting debate, the praise, the ranting, the criticism. nice to see that this didn't degrade into a youtube-style bullshit stream, some interesting points have been presented. a pleasure to read the interpretations. - isokadded on the 2017-05-11 15:30:27
