- blitter is pretty damned slow also if you'd like to know, doesnt helps a lot, except if you want to do some smallish bobs. cpu can run close to 4mhz if you're clever, instructions has to be 4 byte aligned, and any non 4 consecutive read/write cycle will slow you down. its an animal between a500 and c64 really.

- I think if a HW can emulate the c64 99% it can be even soldiered to a full blown c64 then it's rightly called c64 something. Nobody looks at it as a real c64 if that is your problem. Everyone knows what it is. and the HW is pretty damned close from the programming point of view. cpu: same instruction set, and you have some extra registers for banking, new gfx modes, blitter and thats it. ...8 bit digital sound only if you cőu handfeed one register, thats not much really.
