- I was quite impressed to hear he used the built-in speech synth. As far as i'm concerned, if it's included in an average setup of a recent version of the OS, use it. It is enabled in win2k default install (at least since service pack2 - i have a default setup next to me and checked). I'd say the 2 most recent versions of windows should be acceptable (we're aiming to make good-looking demos here, not legacy apps!)
There was similar controversy when people started to use 3d cards, and make demos that wouldn't run under dos, and even that needed extra fast-mem on amiga. It'll settle down soon enough, and we will have 64kb intros with speech and better effects cause extra space is available :)
How about a divx so I can actually watch it now ;) - isokadded on the 2003-08-13 16:41:29
- demo Windows Digital Dynamix by Fairlight [web]
- Gets a thumb for the good artwork, physics engine and tune, but otherwise it just looks like a basic tech-demo to me. I'd like to see it used to make something funky next :)

- demo Windows fr-031: faded memories by Farbrausch [web]
- It was good. It has Visualice's great style. And farbrausch's mighty engine. And the tune was good.
But somehow, it left me thinking that it was just a good engine with a good tune, and a nice layer of style with nothing inside. Good, but I hope for much more next time. - rulezadded on the 2003-08-12 14:30:11
- demo Windows Feed Your Machine by Faktory
- I thought this ruled, should have placed higher. It somehow looks like an oldschool demo with some cutting edge effects. Perhaps people don't like that oldschool look anymore?

- demo Windows 3000 by RocketScience
- Very average demo. Parrot gfx rocked tho. And music was pretty good.

- demo Windows predator by mfx [web]
- Rules, but not as hard is it could have. I thought the cuts were right for the tempo, but the effects changed too much at each cut. Mixing more similar effects for each cut, and changing totally every 4 beats or whatever would have made it better for me.
Still, a nice piece of work. - rulezadded on the 2003-08-12 14:07:00
- demo Windows A Study in Lines and Textures by Traction [web]
- It's been ages since a demo showing maths effects was released, which is a shame. Good stuff!

- demo Windows Probe Industries Two Thousand by David Hasselhoff Fan Club
- I was expecting far worse after reading the name ;)
Was not too bad, some good ideas + 3d stuff, but somehow it totally failed to move me. Plus, I didn't like the music. - isokadded on the 2003-08-12 13:49:41
- demo Windows A Significant Deformation Near The Cranium by Kewlers [web]
- Great production! Artwork is some of the best I've seen yet, tune rulez :) More please!

- demo Windows Dreamchild by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- Best one from assembly I've seen so far (and i'm working down the results list :)
Amazing work, almost pure effects all the way through, with great design too :) The music let it down a little (a very small little), but only cause I don't like the style. - rulezadded on the 2003-08-12 13:33:51
