- demo Windows the official end of a civilization by Nuance [web]
- i saw the title and the first screen i got this weird feeling of hoping that this would turn out fantastic because the premise was excellent... it did sadly fall thin.
the direction is very elongated (slight changes in the camera would've been preferred), the visuals look great but they never actually contribute to the narrative; e.g. i understand the symbolism behind the head but it's too... tacky, i guess, plus the lighting on it kinda made the whole scene very opengl 1.1 (same goes for the spaceship which obviously had the idea with the title displayed in world-space, but the model itself was so underdone...)
the premise gave me hopes that you guys would pull of something like Relic and i can see that it was counted as a possibility but you can almost smell the deadline incoming, along with "ok, fuck it."
it really could've been amazing. - isokadded on the 2009-08-16 18:04:32
- demo Windows Stereotype by Artway [web]
- first off, let me state that arial must die.
secondly, where's da evil bassline and amen breaks?
all in all this wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, but to take the piss out of something, you have to do it from the above, not below.
that said, at least he went and made a demo about it. - isokadded on the 2009-08-16 17:49:07
- demo Windows Xenocrates by Panasqnic
- if it doesnt work on ATI (shader compiler error) try http://gargaj.umlaut.hu/temp/xenocrates_patched.exe
Quote:extremely pleasing synesthetic experience
the only problem I have with that is the the synesthesia came from what i assume to be a few shaders wired on FFT values: the cheap way.
the demo started out fantastic, really set up the atmosphere, and then for the last minute or so just failed to evolve and go anywhere. so disturbingly anticlimatic. :( - isokadded on the 2009-08-16 17:39:33

- i admit i had fun working with this, but mostly because of the unorthodox workflow (QWERTY should always be CDEFGA :)

a final version is on the way, I think it will run at an agreeable speed on most machines.
