• For this kind of color grading bitplane effect, I'm thinking that it should be possible to animate the color planes at 50fps while rendering to the brightness planes at a lower fps. On Software Make the Dance Foam Oil I used an animated dither pattern in the background, but didn't think about that it could be updated every frame. Possibly hiding the low fps a little (In my dreams)

• Great stuff! I actually think the intro scene is the best looking one. Also love those strange triangle effects going on in the walking man scene.
