- diskmag Windows Hugi #26 - Techno Tarantula by Hugi [web]
- another hugi issue, another disappointment. as if i knew it already. i would like to downthumb it commentless, but as i'm not the one who just bashes releases down, i'll go into detail:
- i laughed my ass off at the "news". whats the point of publishing stuff everyone knows already ? how about some EXCLUSIVE news like in pain ? i mean, making an advert titled "mindcandy demo-dvd coming soon", after the dvd is available quite long enough ? what for... if you can't get up-to-date news, then leave it alone.
- 70% of the music was horrible... or perhaps not horrible technically, but if you do music for a diskmag, it has to be "background" music and not music that gets on your nerves after 5 minutes.
- now honestly, how many of the articles are really scene-related ? maybe 50%, maybe 60% ? that's still too few. if you claim to be a scene-diskmag, then do scene-content please, and not "how to make winamp skins" and dozens of poems.
- the only REALLY good thing was the chiptune tutorial by vhiiula, GREAT!!! i could have needed this one some years ago, and will still learn enough things out of it... and the interview with tomcat was also neat, but it's copied from a polish amiga mag and is over 1 year old, so where's the point ?
so, definetely thumbs down, sorry. and please don't come with "come on, we have to support diskmags" and stuff. yes we have to, but adok is making hugi (ex-hugendubelexpress) since 1996 or smth, and yet i don't see a major improvement contentwise. - sucksadded on the 2003-02-25 22:51:34
