- Sorry, but despite this probably being a very honest way of showcasing the old times, and a lot better than most intros of this kind, it fails on too many levels to be likable. Here are some points that struck my nerves (ie. a try in constructive criticism):
1) The sine plotter effect ran jerky and sluggish on my 2 GHz machine. I think that's pretty unforgivable.
2) The zoomer was pretty basic and jerky and did not have any kind of filtering (you could see the seams where the interpolation does its work). Being in software is no excuse, bilinear filtering ran just fine in 1998 or so.
3) The interference in the background of the main scene moves way too fast and gets messy.
4) There is some kind of strange appeal in the colourscheme, but it really should have a main colour and then something to contrast that with. Now it's grey and lime green and strawberry red and orange in the background.
5) The ribbon thing where the screens are is buggy. Seriously, it has seams that look like it was be moving too fast or had z-fighting (if it was in hardware). And the light-source didn't move but just sat in the left side of the screen.
6) The "variform" block filter did not look good at all. It just added to the mess. It might've been better if it was used on a whole panel in the ribbon.
I think it could be summed as "way too much stuff happening at once". I think this could've easily made a nice 2 or 3 scene intro after bugfixes. However, the scroller was cool and I have a fondness for flat-shaded things. - sucksadded on the 2008-01-23 23:36:03

- You weren't flamed and laughed at because you were a newbie, you were flamed and laughed at because you started your first post with this
Quote:Shut your fucking mouth you retarded bitch!!. I don't waste my time argueing with retarded people like you.
and then kept on the same tone. We've seen it before with people who come here to present their (by demoscene standards, pretty lousy) cracktros and nobody them it seriously.
I don't know much about the crack scene, but from what I've seen (the ones that come on pouet), it's pretty hostile and filled with people too full of themselves. The demoscene culture is thankfully very much different, and acting like a an arrogant "cool dude" while you produce a starfield just isn't going to cut it. - isokadded on the 2008-01-22 12:47:43
