- Intrinsic: in that case installing the directx9.0c redistributable from the microsoft website on your win7 machine might solve it

- uhm, so when did you start a 1k/4k for the last time? :)
if no window shows up after a few seconds of decrunching the reasons are probably (see .nfo)
- no recent directx installed
- no shader model 3.0 compatible graphics card - isokadded on the 2012-09-18 16:00:40

- i can give you exact figures tonight if you want it more detailed :)
i wouldnt know how to specify a note value from a rotating 32bit bitmask for notes (as its only on/off), except you have one mask per note value.
this one uses 4 instruments with 1 pattern of 64 bytes each (basically 2x32 tick patterns, but always played together)
the needed midi command bytes are also stored with the pattern data block and pattern selection is done by some pattern bitmask
so at least here since the player code is pretty minimal already the only way to reduce the size is to use fewer instruments or have even more repetitive sound :) - isokadded on the 2012-09-18 12:30:46

- uhm ... i think it was
~70 bytes player
~70 bytes patch data
in the end.
so something around 150 compressed bytes for everything sound related (including setup, function imports ...) - isokadded on the 2012-09-18 11:32:21
