- demo ZX Spectrum Heart Megademo by AAA Band
- This prod is an interesting mixture: an old school megademo with the elements of trackmo. As usual, one has large parts, which you are supposed to skip through by pressing the space button. At the same time, many parts, e.g. intro or credits are styled as mini-trackmos, which makes this megademo surprisingly fresh to watch. In my opinion, the introduction, the dendrites and the credits parts are the particular highlights.
This party version is uneven in that some parts are distinctly more boring than others. The authors are talking about a much improved post-party release in a few weeks time. However, in line with the usual megademo exuberance, there is enough quality content here already. - rulezadded on the 2014-01-06 22:34:11

- Bucketload, you want to use one of emulators with support for beta disc interface. The freely available ones are Fuse or Unreal. Spectaculator 8 is also very good, but not free.
In either one of them, you would need to select TR-DOS option from the menu and type RUN "HEART" to start the program. - isokadded on the 2014-01-06 22:02:07

- By today's standards this *megademo* may appear slow and dated. However, at the time when it was first released, this was one of the better demos for the platform, without any doubt. I was largely uninterested in what ZX Spectrum demoscene had to offer in the middle of 1990s, but I watched this demo quite a few times, to listen to the fantastic AY digital track, or to watch waves on the surface visualiser or to appreciate intra-part transitions.

- In fact, I just had a look - the DeMarche demo has versions both for 128K and for +2/+3 ZX Spectrums too.

- Relatively simple, but effective and truly mesmerizing, actually. It is not often that you see 1K with a beginning, a culmination and an end. My favourite prod from the party.

- Factor6, you do know about this prod: https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=61694, right? OK, it is not for 128K/+2, but the 8x4 multicolour on 128K is usually done via screen flipping, so the presence of memory contention (or the lack of thereof) is much less of an issue in this case.
I cannot not thumb this up as a technical achievement, but, to be honest, I find it fairly ugly. However, the amount of content here is amazing. - rulezadded on the 2013-12-12 00:34:56

- Loved it, because of the style, because of how clean and relaxed this is, and because it felt a little bit like it was talking to me personally. I am not fully convinced that the chosen colour scheme was the best possible choice (I would have gone for complementaries), but I dig these colours too.

- demo ZX Spectrum Rage by X-Trade
- This demo does not start well, with its selection of boring pixel effects. But the second half is a real tour-de-force in timed codes for Pentagon, with several multicolour and border effects that set the standard even today.

- 32b ZX Spectrum we are watching for you since you were SIXTEEN by skrju [web]
- I honestly think that this is cheating, because I do not like extreme size codes and because, in my opinion, the really cool thing here is the title, which is actually more than twice as long as the code itself.
But what a title it is! - rulezadded on the 2013-11-29 23:07:01
