thanks for that long and interesting comment and quiver seems to be a pretty mighty synth as far as the examples on the page show.
also you seem to have a pretty good understanding of synth inner workings and sound generation (way better than mine at least), so i wont actually comment back much since your points are in essence valid.
the changes you supposed might or will work to pimp the sound also, i'll probably give some of it a try even :)
as reed already pointed out it was a tight schedule we had, but more importantly it was actually the first time usage of the synth for him as well as for the synth itself (vst plugin as well as intro version)
this should not be an excuse at all but as you already said, the more complex/flexible a synth is the longer it takes to make full use of its potential.
for me its a bit like taking the first songs we did with 4klang before the public release compared to what we and other people do with it today (without major code changes since then).
and thats why i already said before that we are pretty happy with the results we got currently, cause it leaves enough options/enhancements for other things still to come :)
i would be curious though how other state of the art 64k synths like quiver e.g. would sound implementing the very same song.
also i kind of find that a nice compo category.
get some midi file for the base notes, some reference mp3 and get your synth to sound as close to the reference as possible :) - isokadded on the 2011-08-11 01:31:10

- sure, you can always tweak and fiddle around more on the patches as well as the song and also the visuals.
but considering the fact that things like deadlines usually stand in the way of "perfection" and that a new synth/tool (and 64klang is not just an extended 4klang, see image) is never fully exploited at first-time usage i am nevertheless more than happy with the result.
so i dont think reed and me actually have to argue about that :)
but i also would be curious to get your feedback, if you want to elaborate a bit :)
