• It's very hard to climb the hills of the uncanny valley, esp. in 1kb. Kudos for going after "realistic" visuals.

  Yep, Darkness lay your eyes upon me comes to mind, and I wouldn't mind seeing the glowing crack.
  
  OTOH to stay on the same type of visuals you did here, it could have been cool to see a mid-break where we'd see the landscape on a monitor ( different angle, a shade of blue/green and scanlines or vertical blank banding effect ), or with some gibberish text overlays
