- Very nice soundtrack, but the demo feels like it is not breathing, like there is no pulse.
Oh and Shane : Thumbing down every production does really make you look like the vicious spoilt bastard of VIZ... :-)

- demo Windows Reflections by Dope [web]
What was that all about ? Let me sum up :
Ultra-low framerate, which jumps up and down,
Unshaded, jerky, crude textured and even worst uv'ed polygons that would still look bad in the first opengl 4k's back in 99 (the music is also straight from that era),
A handful of particles that get in the way and serve no other purpose but to annoy,
'Reflections' in 512x512 token 'render to texture' effect, that look aliased as hell and probably with the wrong projection,
The nice idea of using the (crowd pleasing) dancer is also ruinned by unimaginative 'cubes' used for joints, and a (what looks like) precalculated 'explosion' at the end.
Unless there is something wrong with my system, the scene after that explosion is just 5 particles rotating on a black background.
At least if it was a new NextEmpire demo, it would be slightly more interesting (for the wrong reasons..)

- demo Windows fr-045: life after by Farbrausch [web]
Visualice graphics are the saving grace (ish).
Other than that, static scenes, overlong camera sweeps, token filters, low framerates (for the content, I was expecting at least rock solid 50fps), music that is a question mark (I wonder if it played correctly or this is just it).. In other words, the usual fr production style and values after the excellent 'popular demo' ...

- Sorry but it takes like 2 minutes to load. And then ? 'Robots' attack humans. Where have we seen that before...

- It ultimately fails because of crash-bugs and very difficult interface. I must admit I liked the 'random tune' - for some perverted reason... these tunes are ideal to put you to sleep.. The screenshot could be better.. How about one from that demo with the infamous 'sex' scene ? (from the same demo with the limping horse, or whatever it was..).

- How clueless can you be in order to thumb this one down ! "Outdated".. since when ?
This is a little masterpiece, with subtle but very effective code.
Satori productions should never be thumbed down. - rulezadded on the 2005-03-08 15:50:25
