- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Rubbur
- @keops
it's a hue change, yes, but it's 32 colors.
it rotates 32 pre-calculated palettes.
(code is at https://github.com/steffest/rubbur/blob/main/parts/intro.c , if you're interested)
As with all of my solo-demos: I'm not technically skilled enough (yet) to do fancy real time effects, so it mostly relies on pre-calculated things and graphics.
(And also there: the graphics are not hand-pixeled in 32 colors, but were done in ProCreate/Photoshop and then downscaled to low-res / 32 colors)
The only scene that is different - and therefor my favorite - is the round face/hand scene where there is some real-time effect going on. - isokadded on the 2026-01-13 06:27:44

Indeed! It was a request from the party-organisers to include a recording as fallback.
You can also grab the ADF directly from github: https://github.com/steffest/rubbur/tree/main/Release - isokadded on the 2026-01-12 13:23:25

- This was DA BOMB during the party.
Insanely cool.
I might or might not have drooled a bit when my jaw was on the floor.
Good times.
VERY good production. - rulezadded on the 2026-01-11 14:17:24

- Wow!
Winner of the "cool vibe" award.
Such a nice style and a lovely attention to details.
Excellent execution, a pinch of humour: delightful in every way. - rulezadded on the 2025-10-05 12:14:32

- You had me at the loading screen... (awesome idea!)
Very nice vibe, colorscheme and music.
The spaceship looks a bit out of place IMHO, but those voxels and pixel-graphics... yummie!
(Also: yay! finally a windows executable demo that runs on my machine :-) ) - rulezadded on the 2025-08-02 12:02:55
- demo Gameboy Advance Vibe by Desire [web]
- Well, if this is the result of vibe-coding, then it must have been a good vibe.
I like it. - rulezadded on the 2025-07-27 11:25:02

People have this mythical idea of demos and demoparties.
demogroups spend hours/days/weeks/months crafting a unique digital experience, only made possible by insane skills, dedication, love and stamina.
Then, at a party, this get presented for the first time to wow the audience.
Or so everybody hopes, and sometimes it IS exactly like that, creating those magical scene moments every scener remembers so dearly.
When this does NOT happen, and the audience figures the demogroup did NOT pour in all that work, because of ... - enter reason here - lame use of commercial engines, lame use of sampled music, AI graphics, AI soundtrack ... they feel cheated and robbed of an experience.
Hence the overly passionate reactions, almost like a junkie that was robbed from its fix :-)
And I somewhat get it, everybody is SOOOO hoping for awesomeness, then the name of a famous demogroup comes up, the audience goes "ooohhh, this is going to IT ! Finally!" and then when it isn't what they were expecting they go "WTF! this is crap! I'm insulted you would even present that" - isokadded on the 2025-05-02 08:52:29
- demo Amiga AGA Shinya 1986 by Almagest
- Yes!
This was the Amiga demo where I felt the most excitement at the party.
It's SO COOL!
Obviously, it's way too short and I was truly sad to see it end, but yeah...
Big big thumbs up for an excellent vibe. - rulezadded on the 2025-04-26 15:22:31
