cheap demofx: just code >12h/d for a week. - Bad Sector's was definitelly faster (I didn't knew that rep stosb, I know too little x86 opcodes yet) but not giving me full frame rate, cause of slow videoram/gfxcard. Perhaps this is what happening in your 486 if you don't have a good PCI card installed
- I got full framerate on my 486/33 with a stupid Trident VGA even with only stosw (at 320x200x8bpp anyway)

erm... in the abone code move the Optimus: label just before the rep instruction and after it add a mov cx, 16000 one. I placed the label to the start just for fun (making you think that i was talking specially in you like in IRC :D) -
