It's on many SNES hack pages with tutorials, but on wikipedia not, it's misunderstood as 3d gpu. It even has a plot and read pixel opcode :) -
well, it's a very understandable mistake, seeing that it was used for Starfox etc. But really where the Super FX 2 shines is on Yoshi's Island where it's used to do rotation and scaling effects mostly. IMO the best game of the system in general. -
^ +1 in terms of technicality, but nothing beats chrono trigger :D -
Yes, most games used flat polygons so you would assume at first it's a GPU rendering flat polygons, but then they used it on other things, I remember the first time I've seen Yoshi's Island, it was more impressive than slow flat polygons. -
