without having seen it, a first remark: could you guys please learn how to package scene productions? i mean, imagine someone leeches your intro in 5 years from some scene ftp. just an archive without any textual informations whatsoever! i'm not even raving about file_id.diz and blahblah, but it' should be normal and according to the interest of every goup to include at least a tiny textfile with some information. it's just for the sake of your release not getting lost and forgotten!

This is just a scroller and vectorbob handcoded in Blitz Basic. It's oldschool, but it gets boring really fast. I pressed escape after about two minutes of this.

yeah this got pretty boring. can't really see the point in making oldshool demos to begin with. it's just the way they used to look before people knew better. pat on the back tho for that nice vecbob cube, even tho you should have put some more work into it making this worth while.
Not very exciting but nice vecbob's and I like the old skool vibe.

No flamegrills here... keep em coming!

We don't expect everyone or even anyone to like it! It is what it is =) We just have fun doing them . Expect something more substantial in the next release.

Music is ok, scroller is too long but in general overview it is fine...

Thanks for the comments, appreciated!
it was just coded for fun :) We love all demos, a lot of this is a learning exercise for me, B2D is a very limited language and I enjoy thrashing it.

Shockwave: I wondering if you remember me? :) (around the days of Fanatix along with my local scene mate Genetix) ? :)

After viewing the intro, it doesnt have the usual shockwave quality on it. yes, nice effect and decent music.. but the layout and graphics are a let down. (what happened to the old ftx gfx guys?)

Yes I remember you Darkus, you were one of Fanatix graphics guys weren't you? I was in 2 groups at that time, Wizzcat UK and I used to mess around and release products just to bug Jag, incidentally I drove up to Godmanchester to meet him, we got to be quite good phone buddies.

Don't know if he's still around anywhere though :)

Thanks for remembering me!

Or maybe you wrote music for them... Can't remember sorry! I remember your name though.

HELLOOO? what's oldschool about a prod that has nothing but an ugly scroller and still needs some big pentium?

doing an 'oldschool styled' prod on something like blitz basic is showing off nothing but a big lack of both coding skills and creativity.

without blitz 3d and blitz plus (or whatever)? wow!

Thanks to everyone who's posted comments, if you didn't enjoy it, well thanks for taking a look, if you did enjoy it / find it ok then we're glad that you liked it.

It's all a bit of a learning experience for me as a coder, sure I could easily use the bolt on 3D commands to do this in no time but I want to understand the nuts and bolts of it all before I move on to other stuff.

We're working on a multi part demo which will be quite retro but after that I might code something a little more in keeping with current demos.. Just doing it for fun really.

Hey dude, before you can become a professional flamer you better learn to spell! It is so fucking lame not spell correctly. :)
