238 sprites by ULM, mmm.. but too late ;)

p.s. Now I've got to continue with my sprite record attempt on the CPC. Almost half of the code is finished 3 days ago, hope to find the same mood oneday to finish the rest as soon as possible (This week I am mostly studying for a test in the uni and this cut my air ;P). I think I can beat 20 easilly..

Nice to have you back Gunstick but I wish it was with something more original than this old sprites contest :)

Too bad Leonard released a version with 268 sprites 3 months ago:

Great piece of code anyway.

And the scrolltext talk about a demo started in 1993 that may be finished soon *__*

2 more and you have twice as many as the c64 record.

cruzer: you can't compare, the parameters, hardware and rules are not the same ones.

Of the same size? In which demo???

p.s. Hehe, funny. While I am coding CPC software sprites these days, struggling to get few more, my code being a total mess, I am thinking of how much easier would it be on the C64 ;P
p.p.s. It was harder than I thought and I must had calculated wrong NOP cycles for some opcodes. I am almost about to finish and I have a bit less than 20 :(
But I am thinking of cheating some stuff and perhaps.. :/

Rulez just because it was made by Gunstick of ULM...rather boring beside that. Sprites are nice but do they need to be that ugly liek in all those "record" screens?

Sunnyboy: considering the level of opitimization, the sprite is hard coded. Any change has a biiiig impact on the CPU load.

Still the palette has no impact on the code, therefore the color scheme is up to the coder ... and coders are not famous for their sense of design.

Hehe. The CPC sprite in this is nicer, but if I was using the Atari sprite on the CPC in my unrolled codes, I could spare a lot of CPU cycles. I had some ideas, but then someone started the record on the CPC with the nicer sprite and so I had to leave those tricks ;P
