one of few intros/demos i've seen that can truly be called 'experimental'.
haven't decided wether i like this, yet.

wether i like this or not, i mean...
blah.

At least it _is_ original. I'm pretty sure that it is not everybodys taste, but what da heck.

this is the first "not-a-demo"-demo.

Strangely fascinating. Unquestionably original, extremely minimalistic.

Love it.

i give this my vote for being 100% original

one could question the technical quality aspect of this though :)

Can you get any more newskool or geometric? This intro could be used as a psychologic test. They could diagnose you for what you see in it, just like in ink blot tests. Hmm... I saw angry kites in one part. I haven't completely lost it, have I?-P

Btw, the { symbol represents a fountain in Nethack, just a coincidence?
added on the 2001-08-19 20:11:59 by DiamonDie DiamonDie
excellent :) the realization of my wildest intro dreams ;) an hypnotic sequence of electric lifeforms, with no boundaries between audio and visuals.
rulez added on the 2001-08-19 21:05:02 by _-_-__ _-_-__
nice. however, even though the synth generates very cool sounds effects, i would have appreciated something more like 'music' in there (although that might have destroyed the essence of the intro ofcourse). to me these sounds make the intro seem a lot like some sort of lowres flash movie.

for the rest, very very nice.

yeah, get a doctor!

it's very nice tho.

It is a very different intro. I get whacky tron-like robot-8bit AI feelings. Or something.
rulez added on the 2001-11-15 13:18:50 by skypher skypher
megademo with nice loading screen.

but what a keeewl piece! just... a bit dissected and hey, you should work more on music not the visuals ;)

An interesting intro based around minimalistic graphics with minimalistic music.
At least different.
rulez added on the 2001-11-25 11:46:36 by exocet exocet
The most abstract intro I've seen so far. No credits, no greets, no music (just sounds), even no real title. Just some shapes and very few colours.

In the meantime, this concept has been copied several times, but without reaching the impact of this intro.

The moment the thing lost it's geometric beauty was a let down and it didnt stop. Maybe I should watch it on a DOS-PC at home instead of in DOSBOX at work...

Wow! Just wow!!!

Actually, I usually watch demos and expect effects and 3d scenes..

..but I think I'll oneday organize the very strange demos in a special directory, because things like this give me the feeling that I encounter an alternative reality of abstract lifeforms, it's preety much scary and out of this world man!

I think this is my best reason to like abstract demos. So abstract. And things like soundeffects instead of music gives that atmosphere. You are locked to another reality, a very far away parallel world, where you see those shapes and stuff like lifeforms and wonder if there is something out there.

Woho I should stop right now..

I guess I should quickly comment on this. Here's the deal: I fucking kicking rocking love it. Just because of the atmosphere.

I'm confused, and utterly calmed - and also confused, and confused as well.
Reminded me on playing on the Atari 2600 with my cousin back then, and imagining the blocks into things. It's also utterly soothing, for a reason I can't even pin point.

I, I, think - I love it?

This is my jam. Just perfect minimalism, experimental type of music like a sound collage and very fitting visuals and tight sync. What's not to love about this, enjoyable from start to finish.
rulez added on the 2016-08-18 23:30:44 by visy visy
Coming back to it...
This thing has such a fantastic atmosphere, like a future that never was, for some reason it evokes a feeling of nostalgia. Those sound effects are fantastic, and so are the visuals.
added on the 2017-06-29 01:57:20 by TomoAlien TomoAlien
I just now realized this is almost certainly the most Lynchian thing ever made in the scene. Right down to the sound design.

I don't know what it is really about. But that's not important.

Enjoy the void.

I feel like I finally stumbled across the spiritual sequel to the Frankie Goes To Hollywood game from the ZX/C64. I tried plugging the joystick in but I don't know if it made any difference.
