trademark traction style polished to perfection. awesome demo, but a bit cold and lifeless.

I really like this but it also makes me feel that with some work it could have been an excellent 64k.
rulez added on the 2006-08-06 04:23:15 by dairos dairos
i don't know. it didn't manage to catch my attention as much as some previous traction products did. maybe i just didn't really like the colors. i prefer the clean white-ish traction colorschemes. nevertheless a good demo, maybe a bit stretched though.

my spec is almost same with got i also have a geforce 7900 GT but not working...

We're working on a fix as soon as figure out what it is. Does it run on any nvidia cards? We don't have one for testing..
added on the 2006-08-06 11:06:49 by Preacher Preacher
dosent't work
my pc spec is almost same with got too, but my videocard is geforce7800gt(91.31)
added on the 2006-08-06 11:20:23 by sekohisa sekohisa
Demo immediately exists after loading.
Geforce 6600GT (91.31 drivers) , WinXp sp2.
added on the 2006-08-06 14:09:42 by scg_ scg_
oh yes, I have to second dairos... seeing this in a demo compo after such monstrous 64ks as the fairlight's one had a little 'wtf?!'-feeling... but then again, I don't really bother.
added on the 2006-08-06 14:14:03 by bhead bhead
and btw I have the same problem as scg, on a same config except for 77.79 drivers
added on the 2006-08-06 14:16:01 by bhead bhead
That problem does generate after loading.
It begins to sound and it does crash soon.

preacher, in my case no, just some white screen for a moment and then back to desktop

Looks like it doesn´t run on nvidia (FX, driver 53.?? and 9?.??)

Okay, I narrowed the bug down to the blur shader. Unfortunately we don't have a nvidia board for testing, so it might take a while :(

Here's a version without post processing. It looks ugly, but at least you can get some idea on how the demo looks:

Just imagine it with bright glow and blur ;)

video, temp_fix version did double check.

temp_fix version:
It work though a dark impression was received overall compared of the video.
And it is true.
It ain't good the visual compared with the video.

after watch:
very cool.
style is traction trademark style.
the visual are very good compared with before the one.
music are smooth.
and totaly beautiful demo.

Geforce 7800 GT here, and it runs but slows to a crawl on several scenes.

Preacher, I'm happy to help debug. Drop me a note at jeremy +at+ blue7media.com. Saw the demo on ASMTV and loved it -- great work.

I have to say I was rather disappointed with this, it's not nearly as good as most Traction demos. The soundtrack is more like boring than hypnotic and most of the effects didn't appeal to me.
added on the 2006-08-08 14:36:50 by DiamonDie DiamonDie
i always thought the music is the weak point in traction productions - now i have to admit that it's the best in here. very nice style, rather hypnotic! the visuals are also quite nice, but sometimes the screen feels empty and some of the objects look a bit unmotivated.

Also, the final version includes a new mix of the song, as well as a couple of improved syncs.

Wow, really nice, visually. I was just sitting there thinking that it needed a more upbeat soundtrack. Or perhaps some a bit more melodic - like Jean Michel Jarre, or something. Dunno.
I just know that I would have thumbed it up, massively, had it had a more melodic soundtrack.
Very artistic. I like this one.. really nice visually and I like the soundtrack as well.

I think this is one of the demos that is driven by the music by 80%, the visuals are nice, calm and very great - but in the mix with the music this really does it for me.
It somehow looks calm, and soothing - but the music grabs you - and pushes you around a journey - alerting you to watch with wide eyes what you can see.
Love this one,- it'd get a glop - of only they'd not be so rare.

Thumbs up for the coherent and calm presentation. Who needs depth sorting when you've got additive blending? The greetings scene must have been my favourite with the strange attractor fractals coming second. Might have been a bit too lengthy for the content, but maybe it worked better at the party?
