I couldn't believe I'd see another record break on CPC with such a great amount of balls (I counted them on screen pause). Keep up the spirit!
Just for the name itself :)
WOW
Great record with a sweet presentation.
Thumb up!
Great record with a sweet presentation.
Thumb up!
Can't believe some people still do that! Nice stuff :)
impressive and clean
Awesome :)
respect: breaking the record *and* looking good whilke doing it.
This demo kicks my ass ! Go on this way !
World record!!! Congratulations!
I may join the CPC bob record party one day. Of course I need to learn about CPC a little bit first ;)

Very impressive ! and nice title indeed :)
Brilliant ! Please to see that record has been beatten !
And great to see competitors to also thumb it up :)
I'm sure there could be at least one more ball in there, hu? :)
Maybe impressive, probably clean but really not my cup of tea, sorry...
Nice!! :)
Breaking records is always cool! :) And it looks totally nice! Cool music as well.
Great piece of code...
It a very big record... ! ! !
Impressive !
Impressive !
42 balls? Not that bad for such a noob :)
my cup of c\~/
He he, nice record.
For the spirit! :)
Very impressive, even several years later.
I hope the record will be broken as soon as possible

still keeper of the record even in 2011...
42 balls are amazing by ZX Spectrum standards! Will try to think this out for Spectrum :)
good. nice tune \o/
I would like to see what the spectrum can do. I always thought it could do a little bit more because of smaller vram.
Optimus, not Spectrum aka ATM allow something like that.
That's a lot of balls.
<insert random balls joke here>
btw, how do demo output balls fast?
by putting the balls to the wall
thank you, mr.Obvious xD
Hehe,. baaalllzz
Anyway, it's just very clever unroll codes per sprite. Maybe few more stuff? On AtariST, Leonard was doing something like clearing blocks of screen where many balls might be there in previous frame. So, with many balls overlapping, you clear much less area than if you individually cleared every ball alone. I don't know if the same technique is applied here since there are much less balls to make a gain, although they are more close together if you check.
And the unroll could be like 16 or 32 different unroll codes. As optimized for CPC videoram specific structure, sprite starting from 0 to 7 line on Y, also from pixel 0 to 3 in starting byte. So, lot's of memory. At least that's similar to something I tried for this challenge (but never finished and I was at 23 sprites only at the time). Also, I was doing ADD HL,BC with BC = 2048 to go to next lines and then -14336 + 80. But today it can be optimized with SET/RES bits.

The contest is still alive! Watch Pulpo Corrosivo's part to see a greater amount of balls ;)
smooth balls.
Sprite records are what seperates men from boys. Awesome code! Keep on pushing the envelope!
what MacDeath said ;-)
What Rufusul and Preacher said.
