A fine demo, even without the nostalgia factor because I've never played IK+. Perhaps I should download it from the Virtual Console on Wii.

Absolutely fine work Suckho and Dice and Firestorm.
Listening to the song, pants wet.
Wordlessly beautiful.
And two no:1 competition categories with one demo, woah.

Funniest, it made something strange with the res and now the taskbar is floating around.

this sort of demos don't cut it for me. also short content-wise. nice water & remix tune nevertheless.
added on the 2008-10-28 09:51:15 by shadez shadez
Seriously low on content, same old C64-nostalgy-crowdpleasing, same old TAC-2 (iconic of its times or not, it's still a shitty joystick and ugly to boot).. But I can't honestly say I didn't enjoy this. Damn you :)
rulez added on the 2008-10-28 10:10:15 by break break
I liked the monitor, and the water looks nice. But it goes on for too long with just the same stuff over and over. Piggie it is.

Novel idea, but too long. The music brings the thumb!

Pretty nice. But a little too long. Great music.
rulez added on the 2008-10-28 10:52:41 by d3pth d3pth
You are right it is a bit too long (runs in endless loop). It was meant to be some kind of screen saver type of thing, not a real demo with story and script etc.. Also we had to skip all the great ideas we had due to lack of time :) Maybe something better next time..
added on the 2008-10-28 12:51:36 by suckho suckho
"But it goes on for too long with just the same stuff over and over. "

It is a dynamic demo that keeps on running forever until you quit it.

A tribute by byterapers to an legendary game! Great! :)
The remixed music rocks and the visual is lovely... but it's too long and lacks of variety. (and I don't understand why the c64, datasette and monitor suddently rise up o_O)
So piggy for me.
added on the 2008-11-21 11:46:48 by untel untel
Enjoyable, but it could be better. It needs a 'block the balls' section, that could really rule.

Actually, there is no skybox.. The entire sky is dynamically rendered in one GLSL shader.

Video showed this is a great demo! :) But please finish a demo that doesn't just work on your rig :'( I want to run this at super resolution and enjoy it properly... I think a lot of guys think the same!

Tested on C2D+ATi (fail, as expected from your warning) and Opteron+GF (none of the .bats worked, just opens window and exits)

Just bought a brand new (read:crappy) ATI HD 2400 for fixing my engine for ATIs. Let's see if it is worth of all that 27.90 EUR.
added on the 2009-02-09 17:18:10 by suckho suckho
KARAT3D+ v1.10 released:

Should work now both on NV's and ATI's OpenGL 2.0 compatible video cards. NVidia 8600, ATI 2400 HD or better recommended.

Also the design in the final version is a bit more finished so if the original works on your machine, you should still update.

Run it from command line to see if there are any error messages and to see the OpenGL info. Must have at least 2.0 supported.

thx for reminding me to thumb this up, mainly for firestorms ace remix of the tune.
it actually took me like 20 minutes until i realised this is an endless demo, I guess it was needed to enter it in the dynamic demo compo. a few more scenes wouldnt have hurt, tho.
