Very nice demo. Super stylishly presented effects with matching music and subtle but nice 2D graphics + synchro.

Very good demo, nice to see Elude quit their last "church flyby with mozart-like soundtrack" trend.
Some effects really look like it's not amiga anymore.
And thumbs up for flt-like fx in the very end ;)

Mindblowing code, superb design and perfectly fitting music, Dust firmly took place in my top 10 of the Amiga demos :)

I have strong suspicions that this demo doesn't run as smooth on 060 as it does in the youtube video, but i no longer own any 060 amigas, so i'll never know.

Anyway, it seems to be excellent.

@britelite
sure, but we were really short on time with it. lots of stuff is still in C (tho it's pretty optimized) waiting for a final.

@xeron
obviously. video is recorded with constant 25fps. but even on real amiga (it was ran on 060/66) it was really watchable. i don't have anyone to test it on 060/50so can't comment on that. still should be faster than previous one:)

@kiero
Cool! Please don't stop with the 060/AGA demos :-)

It would be nice if you'd support OS4 as well as MorphOS like BriteLite does. Just a friendly request :)
added on the 2010-09-08 17:08:50 by xeron xeron
@xeron morphos is priviliged because it's the system i develop on, but on other systems you just have to add some magic switches to make it use cybergraphics and ahi. iirc -cgx and -ahi should be enough. it's same with previous productions

Btw, tryed on os4 , with keys "-cgx -ahi", in run, say initializing .., then initialising fsqrt ... , and after that , nothing. Only reboot by 3 buttons. In gebug log no errors. On MOS2.5 all works fine :)

Schatten, Licht und Staub.

Wow, did I just saw modern particle effects on my Amiga ?
Framerate was all right for an 060/50.
Pitty though, that it ended with what was supposed to be the peak.
Just one, two more routines after the "blunderDust" with a glimpse of colour (as opposed to the parts before peak) would've made it a total blockbuster.

The soundtrack is ace and fits perfectly.

hArDy: Elude has technically highest quality of demos, but sometimes just simple and fresh idea makes demo even better then that (like Smoke Bomb by Ozone, J. C. M. by Nature/Traktor).

@hArDy ( ed hardy ?? :P ):

Try it. It's not exactly chip-set-banging nowadays.
A lot of the serious stuff is done in C, developed cross plattform ( VASM, VBCC a.s.o.).
Check out ada.untergrund.net to get up to date.
You'll find almost everybody in the active Amiga-scene-coding-community over there.
Not that I wouldn't appreciate to see you come back on the low-spec side with OCS stuff ;)

actualy the last effect was supposed to be a "cherry on top" and we were completely out of time to add anything else (including color). it was finished at the party.

i would say it was quite snappy on "fast" amiga. wasn't slower than usual amiga demos with bit more demanding fx so have no idea where this comment comes from. and a part about compiling it for pc is simply weird. would have to try more than that to impress people on pcs. some try to push more demanding stuff on pc, some still find fun in doing it on amiga

For everyone who in interest to run it on aos4, run it with such keys combo: -ahi -cgx -morphos (yes, morphos key even on os4). That will works in window mode. If you want fullscreen, then: -ahi -cgx -morphos -double -wide. The same keys you can use for the all old Eludes demos, and while some of them not works, some are works.

Thanks to kiero who help me with that
