In my opinion this should have won the 4k amiga compo at mekka 2002 - but well... people seemed to like the designed 4k more.
This really rules though!

well, i (as the coder of the winning 4k) think the same. :) the code is really awesome! great work, blueberry! hope you'll keep on doing amazing 4k's in the future. it's always impressive what you can fit into 4k. :)

How can a marching-cubes-algorithm (with its tables??!?) for meta-blobs be put into 4k together with all the rest??? I dont know!!!
This intro is incredible!!!!!
The best Amiga 4k intro ever!!!

By the complexity and the number of the scenes proposed there, that is worth already a thumb. Then they found place to put a little music. So big big thumb!

hint: logically, there's an algorithm that gives you these tables :)

looks impressive.

plek: and those tables pack away anyway.

nice, altho it was a bit glitchy.

Blueberry said that he fiddled a lot about with the tables.. I think he ended up storing one quad (or something) and then mirrored it about the axises..

In contrary to Zerox I do like this production very much. They must have worked like slaves to obtain an output like that. With no doubt, "Perspiration" should have merited the first rank. Guess "Nano" won because of its great design and well fitting music! But I`m not here, and we`re not doing JP in order to make public relations for our group Scarab, like RokDaZone & Damion did for Artwork by publishing Generation! If I would have voted, and I never do so at parties as all competitions are faked or falsified in the one or other way, Perspiration would have been my choice!!

Glad that I found this prod! I wonder if the algo has been described somewhere already. I did a (rushed) last minute release of a marching cubes algo back in 1998 at Mekka & Symposium, which I believe still was a first in 4k (actually 3k with the 624 compressor). Although I only ended up at the 6th place (the last ^^), I knew that it missed design, music (not that common back thern, but I created some soft synth for it), parameter tuning, and got some z-buffer overflows. One cool part was hearing some comments in the crowd like "This can't be!", "Impossible!".

So with that said, I think I could dig up the sources and release them, as they contain the mirroring and rotation stuff to condense the table sizes. And with some simple tuning like adding wireframe mode (to make the MC algo more visible) it might get released at some of the new gravedigger compos.
