I am still perplexed how to use SuperCPU version of Vice to watch this or other stuff. I insert the D64 and everytihng I do tells me file not found. From autorun selecting to typing LOAD"*",8,1 or LOAD"$",8

Some settings on emulator?

It works both on emu and the real thing, but it's bit buggy and does not show a full screen plasma as the pic shows.

Cool! I used some SuperCPU Vice and put the drive to 1541-II.

Woot: It's fullscreen, smooth and not buggy at all. What you did was running it in ordinary Vice, and on an vanilla C64, but if you can read: the title is SuperCPU Plasma Intro. You will need a SuperCPU for your C64 or SuperCPU emulation in Vice (available in the latest builds) to get the full screen plasma, with no bugs. C'mon. :D

A 20 Mhz afterburner CPU for a lousy plasma. ;P

Well... The release with this intro linked is a SuperCPU game, so we made a SuperCPU intro. Plasma or not. Simple as that. Enjoy.

Ok, I ran it, the drive settings indeed were not set up.
Cool to see highres bitmap effects on Scpu, plasma or not plasma it's cool for me.

Btw,. do they still sell the scpu? was it an fpga?

If you find a SuperCPU you are lucky these days. They were produced in 1996 by CMD and uses the W65C816S 8/16 bit microprocessor at 20mhz. People also often added the SuperRAM, which means 16MB RAM to go with it. Production died in 2001. A dream for me would be a modern clone. It should be possible with a fpga solution, I guess? Problems remain with copyright, I am sure.

there have been better looking plasmas without scpu. no idea of the framerate tho. but clearly the dither is heavily broken. also every decent coder should be able to make this 50fps with a 20x faster cpu.

It does run 50 fps of course Oswald, or what are you talking about?

Optimus: get a bitbox (http://bitboxconsole.blogspot.fr/)or some similar hardware (retroleum v6z80p maybe?) and start hacking!
this wasnt fullscreen for me either. built up very slowly and stopped under the upper logo.
used vice 2.4.0.0 (x64sc.exe)
really slow also, not fluid at all.
Hardy: It's because you did not run SuperCPU emulation.
