damn, gf4 required :(
added on the 2002-09-01 14:45:06 by rasmus/loonies
bah, these system requirements suck
stunning masterpiece !!
they're wrong, it runs on my gf3 ti 500 (screenshot above). it's a little slow.
nice intro.
nice intro.
despite all the negative aspects this is still worth a thumb up.
runs good on my gf3 !
kicking intro and bigups for the weird soundtrack :)

doesnt want to start [crashes with green stripes on the screen]
can only hear the cool soundtrack, gfx is totally fucked up (geforce4, win2k-sp3)
nice intro:)
Moreover, i like the style :)
Workin well on gf3/w2ksp2

won't work here. i am able to hear the soundtrack, but the gfx totally fucked up (ugly flashing purple window and fucked up background... maybe a new style? :)
also crashes (green stripes problem), athalon2100 geforce4400 win98se sblive-value
nicee!
works well gf3ti500+XP.
but i don't like it...
but i don't like it...
rulz !
the requirements suck ass, but this intro surely rocks... i missed a bit of coherency, but excellent visuals and sync
I didn't really think the visuals were excellent, but it's a pretty nice product.
Not exactly pretty nor nice to listen to, but... very interesting effects!
3D code is very buggy, I suggest turning on the Debug DirectX Runtime and you'll see what I mean.

Well, it's no surprise this didn't run on my GeForce2 MX400. No surprise at all.
But I think it's about time demos/intros started using more 'advanced' features of new 3D cards. We can't live in the 90's forever...!

runs sweet as a nut here... v.nice intro, weird but good syncro. nice style. respekt!
there are some visuals i don't really appreciate (such as polysoups and interiors of cubes), but on the overall this is a nice intro.
eeeeeeeew. that font. anyway, looked ok-ish, but other then that pretty boring iirc.
(that sentence didn't come out right, Guess I shouldn't visit pouet when I'm still delerious from lack of sleep at a party :)
So. let me try again: I think the font is really ugly and doesn't fit the rest of the intro. other then that, the intro looks pretty ok.

okay. this gets a rulez because it's fresh (and the first german haujobb-intro in a long time that doesn't look like discloned/ethik; dimensionsfalte is an exception :), the sync and the music is well done and it manages to be colorful without resorting to coder colors.
could've been shorter though, and the only really difference between this and your average jizzblob 64k intro is that it uses per-pixel bumpmapping on everything.

unbelievable great music ! netpoet did a wonderful job on this one.
and please, next time add the DIRECT FILELINK and not just some homepage url.

simply rocks. very good music, good style & sync. also it doesn´t run on my computer (the green lines), i saw it on bigscreen. waiting for the final.
i especially like how it randomizes all the colors everytime it starts :P
Haujobb
Cool attention-deficit-disorder tune, nice fx and sync - Looking forward to final version...
very good work! the blobby bump effect looks brilliant and the tune is very good
Excellent intro. To sad that I could enjoy it just at the partyplace (no geforce card)
really good! definitely deserved to win. powerful soundtrack and some very nice effects. that strange rotating distorted room is really impressive... i have no clue how they implemented that one.
ah, and that font sucks. :)
Seemed to work fine with my GF3, although it did blow up when using the d3d debug drivers. I really wish more coders would spend a bit more time/bytes putting in at least a few checks for the device caps! >_<'''
As for the intro, well, I can't say I saw much of anything that made the requirement of a GF3/4 worthwile, just a few basic shaders, but I'll leave giving it a thumbs up/down until I've seen the final version...

This prod is nice and at least modern !

woooow, great visuals and effects.
concerning the HW requirements:
do you remember kasparov?
we are very good, so you're machine should also be very good ; )

"We're doing dynamic lighting and shadows, per-pixel everything, rendering gigantic, lush environments. The graphical features we're using are so advanced we don't even have buzzwords for them yet."
Great intro. And just when I thought Squish was amazing. Huge respect.
despite all the negative aspects this is not worth a thumb down.
reaktor: Kasparov was runng here always very fine. Back at the release date even with tnt1 (but always on a pIII-450), so it's a quite bad comparison with this intro's requirements.
okay effects, good music, awful font, guestionable color combinations. haujobb..
looked o.k. and though I understand that it's better if demos run on older systems too it's also nice to see some demos taking advantage of certain new features which can create some new visual candy. On the other hand we still see software demos puilling really interesting stuff on our monitors so hey, depend on what you make of it, some productions are worth being limited to special features some are not. The one we have here looks nice but I saw better intros which did not demand special features.
nytrik, know you're just kidding with the last line but hey, the poor are those who have the creative effects because they do have to get good stuff out of nowhere where others use hardware features! :P

word
a nice one,
i finally managed to make it work at home..
what i remembered from the compo was something completely chaotic and senseless.
it somehow is, since you can predict what will happen in the next seconds, but it finally is nicely made, each pattern inducing another scene, very nice syncs, yeah ..
visuals are good too. too bad it's a bit slow on my 900mhz pc ..
very entertaining, i just watched it 4 times in a row :)

Ugh.. couldn't watch it nowhere. There are some Icafes here now that have Geforce 3 and 4. This one have 4MX460, but I have heard that 4MX have reduced features. I don't know. I get either black screen or green stripes. One computer told me it didn't found "pixel shaders" I don't know anything about the new GeForces, but unfortunatelly couldn't run it don't know why..
dont work
lots of little green pixels on the screen and a crash wich need a reset
winMe - P4 at 1.8 - GeForce4 ti4200 128Mb leadtek (original drivers) - 512Mb DDR

installed Windows2000 and now it works! Yay! Chaotic but entertaining style! Can't wait for the final
Pigface. Because
1) some scenes are really ugly
2) it's quite repetitive
But runs great on my R8500 and features some nice effects. whatever, pigface

where's that AVI version? :)
kills my win98/GF4200 stone freaking dead ... and just for you i did it twice . NO MORE ok?
where's the final, guys...? =)
The ugly purple flashing window is probably coming from the debug D3D runtime. The debug runtime clears the back buffer to an ugly color when you use the DISCARD swap effect. When using DISCARD, you should touch every pixel of the back buffer before presenting it for display. This tells me that they didn't use the debug runtime during development, which probably means there are other bugs lurking in there as well.
Yep, switching to the retail runtime eliminated the problem.
4-5 scenes looped over and over, nice effects thiough. Music (sound) was ok aswell.
return of the speedo style
I can finally watch it... and god damn it kicks ass!
cool
Great style and music, nice effects too!
About the requirement:
I own a TNT2, so I'm unhappy 'cos i can't watch it, because it's great.
On the other hand, GF3 is IMHO widespread enough to use their features.

Sooo... when to expect the final version?
Awsummmm Effects !!
Almost like Jizz or Stash and far better

ah, haujobb finally go per-pixel ;) very nice although the intro feels a bit rushed...
Had forgotten this one :)
This is really great stuff! I love the "bump wave" background effect!
fuck those green stripes 9x/me
looks sooo pixel shader :)
it would be mostly pretty average if it wasn't so bumpmapped... i love shiny bumpmapping. And the cube + feedback was cool.
really terrible.
all the effects are so eye-candy !!
instant coup de coeur for me :)
instant coup de coeur for me :)
great music too (and great code)
This never ran on my GeForce4 Ti4200, but now runs fine on my Radeon X800. It's kinda interesting, mostly because it has bump mapping, and I love bump mapping. (Or is it normal mapping? Fuck if I know...)
nice
cool bumpmaping.
and good music.
I liked the vortex scene.

Booming!
didn't like the text, but uber-randomness of tune and sync make it really special. In a word: dirty.
cool intro :)
weeee, pixel shader !
we made a mess

very smooth, shiny, fluid.
a must see
Great comeback intro, they still had it.
was teh shit back than... boring nowadys..
Rules!
Really like this one, still remember when I first saw it on my new laptop in year 2002 with dx9 GPU.

gorgeous stuff and excellent music
Muss nicht sein.
och nöööö lass ma
Scenes inside the cube are totally outstanding. Great music. Other scenes are quite good.
could've been worse !
not bad, some nice parts with a decent soundtrack.
lots of nice scenes but i must say the chinese whatyacallit music was kind of pointless.
This is some goddamn ugly stuff but hey, it's got NETPOET inside!
The word "final" has been mentioned 10 times so I hope that after 13 years, we will get that final version! ;)
Obviously does not work on my Win7 main rig (black screen + music only). Does not work on my Tualaltin/TI500/Win98SE old school rig either (green bars on top). Does not work in VMware XP or Win98. I could only make this work in Virtual Box XP, in Win98 compatibility mode!

one of my favourite 64ks! colourful design, great music and nice bump mapping.
helli please do a win7 fix (or maybe even share the source, so other people can fix it :)

this one blew me away, especially the music. go netpoet!
I have never seen this work properly on any machine. Some scenes usually render fine, most bug out in strange and mysterious (and always different) ways. :)
(I do love those effect-driven mid-school intros. Too bad about the final M.i.A.)
