Is this how you normally behave? Or did you leave your brain at home?

Is "This statement is false", referring to itself, true or false?

it is wrong.
but then it is also right, because it claims to be wrong

linde: it doesn't claim to be wrong, it claims to be false.
linde: You've just discovered youre first paradox, congrats. Take a course in logic, and you'll understand.

Well if logic was just about knowing what a simple paradox is, you would have loved it. (:

the truth is that i am taking a course in logic :P

still only true/false logic, so my question hasn't been answered yet.

anes: how is false different from wrong? i don't know if there is a difference.

gasman: just add this topic to the first list. this is not the "random list of topics that don't contain themselves thread" ;)

linde: wrong means can not be justified with a set of rules. false means "wrong in logic" (logic being a certain set of rules).
compare to: bad (wrong in ethics).
so there's still no logical true/false answer? as far as i know all statements but the ones of this kind are either logically true or false, so it's still contradicting logic
