ok, so i've been around observing for a couple of years and i'm wondering why don't you all group up and make things together? there's alot of smart people here. i'm not one of them. but,i do believe if you all group up you can make some great things. life is about money and i'm not saying i want to earn any of your behalf. but, you guys could probably make some great things. instead of using all of your skills and just giving what you've learned away. of course you guys deserve your credit and all that great stuff. but, instead of everyone here grouping up talking shit and posting images. you guys could probably do some really cool shit.anyway that's an idea. it seems i only post on this site when i've been drinking. i'm still working on learning how to make demos in the first place. i believe i have plenty of information. but, with the current circumstances with my computer currently not working i can't do a whole lot. but, i do one day wish to be like one of you guys. i look up to you guys like a sick kid looks up to a doctor. but, if the doctor kills the kid. he probably doesn't give a shit. but, even though you're all in a state of mind where you seem not to give a fuck. i know you do and i love you guys for it. but, then again i'm not 100% positive about that. so that's why i only post here after i've been drinking. but, i love the diversity and all of that good stuff. it's almost easier to talk to people in other countries than it is to talk to americans in real life. because they all seem to be concieted. i'm not saying all of them are. but most are. so, i feel i can relaxe here a little. wether it's true or not is up for debate. but, i don't really care. but, you've all got alot of great skills and if you grouped together i'm sure you'd have better ones. lol, remind me next time i drink not to post on this site. i feel like a jackass already.

Anyway alot of us already make money from our skills, but for some (most) people here i doubt thats what demos are about atall...

Oh and i'm sure even in America they teach people how to use paragraphs :)

i have a ged. so that means i;m a "drop out". ha. i failed English and coding rarely required paragraphs. well ones that make sense in the english language anyway. but, im sure alot of people dont make money from their skills. they just come here and do it for free. people around me i believe think they should be paid for thinking. so, im thinking these people with skills that i wish to aquire should do the same. because they deserve it as well as all of those other people who just give their knowledge away on the internet. oh, i don't know where i'm going with this. but, i just felt like talking to you guys tonight. so, i did and that's the story to that. also, multiple spaced sentences don't make a paragraph. but, i do hope you have a great christmas. assuming you're christian. i'm agnostic. but, i'm celebrating it anyway. because, that's the way i was raised.

Why make money out of it when you can give it out for free for all to enjoy? Demos are a form of self-expression and having fun, and the best part is releasing stuff for other people to see.

And, a lot of us make money out of our skills anyway. A lot of demosceners are game programmers for example, myself included.

i'm not saying you should. i'm saying you could. if it wasn't for everything free over the years i probably wouldn't be willing to strive to be one of you guys. so, the free thing is definitely good. but, i'm saying you guys are really smart people and i'm sure you guys together could create some really cool things. you've got guys here talking about hardware and software. everyone should mix their skills up here and learn from each other. rather than it being some sort of competition. everyones just going to die someday might as well have everyone around here knowing all the same things. maybe i'm stupid but i think group effort might be a good thing here. because, as we've seen over the year's group effort is a great thing here. group effort creates alot of things. what's wrong with one group? rather than 100 groups competing against each other? i don't know either and by the end of the night i won't know what the hell i'm talking about. i just thought that was a good idea and i didn't mean to get it to a point where i had to get to in depth with it. i remember reading about how alot of demosceneres have became game programmers working for known companies and that's a great thing and that's what makes me think you'd all be great working as a group. but then again maybe i'm just here for the conversation. at this point it doesn't mean a whole lot. but, i have learned about some places i can go for this sort of thing. but i guess this was my closest current option. because i goto this sit every day.

this is a non proffit creative proccess and the competition has always, and most probably will always be there... and would be damn boring without it :)

if you want to make money from your skills, use them in the commercial sector, as many already have and do... but demoscene is demoscene and i think we all like it mostly the way it is :)

And it's not like group structures are rigid and there are holy wars between groups (well, most of the time at least). I've collaborated with people from at least 10 different groups, as well as total outsiders to the scene, and I've always given out my source codes or help when someone's asked for it.

Groups are just labels for bunch of friends and shouldn't be taken seriously. Personally, I prefer to think by the people and not by the groups..

it's not about money. it's more about being curious why everyone does things for free. i understand that you guys do everything for free. to me it's more about why? in my day to day life if i do anything free. i get called stupid and i'm just trying to understand why people with so much more tallent with me would do what they do for free. i'm not trying to change anything. i'm just curious. i love how everything is free. alot of what was free in my life helped me learn. but, i can't help but being curious as to why people to that. even though i have done it as well.

and why money would be the only critera to take into account before doing something? it's just that, there are other criteras as well, such as fun, learning, improving skills, the pleasure of sharing something you've done with others, and so on.. you say it's not about the money, and you're curious why people do things for free, but everything ends up in the price in your eyes it seems, am i mistaking? :)

HeXeN - you say that you've 'failed'. mostly when i have a bigtime failing, its a time when things suddenly all seem amazing and hopeful. ok, i'm in academia - studying a science degree and doing research - its too easy to get stuck in a way of life. even though it sets you back when you mess up now and again, it does open up your mind to the priorities you've been missing. i'm going to leave it now because i'm not writing very effectively what i wanted to say, but keep trucking!!

ok, i see you're judging me on the money aspect. to let you know i know. If "great things" means making a lot of money, i'm very sad. For me, the last sentence is a great thing, and rare in nowadays world. And it's called sharing, not throwing anything away.
