Engine tests suck!

category: general [glöplog]

Damn, dont release fucking engine/introotool tests as demos or intros. It just sucks. The last few released demos are nothing more than a bunch of engine tests... ugly, slow, and boring shit - what a shame.
Quantity isn't quality... and this goes to fr too, never again shit like e.t. or faded boredom!

and if EvilOne doesn't happen to like the style of faded memories it does NOT mean that it would be somehow unfinished/boring/slow/ugly as that demo definitely isn't bad at all. also i don't mind people releasing engine tests. no one does this for money so they are not obliged to make quality. if something is crap then don't mind about it and make better yourself.

In the end every group is responsible for its own releases and if the group wants a release to stink or simply doesn't care that's the way it is.

Looking forward to watching your enginetest EvilOne :)

i doubt no one should tell the community what demos to release or not and i personally think that we are getting more and more high quality productions (not the opposite) compared to the old days.

Hmmm, I don't want tell people what they should have to release... I only think, recent productions are quite annoying, more like engine tests.

I'm with dalezy... we need more beer.

uncle-x is with the one who has most beer,
dalezy is with uncle-x.
thus, dalezy has the most beer.
now, evilone is with dalezy and they need even more beer.
and finally from all this we can conclude that either sceners in general have way too little beer, they consume too much of it or that uncle-x and evilone do not represent average sceners in this regard.

The scene has too many restrictions as it is. It's getting to be like some religious order.

Thou shalt not rip music, scan or copy gfx, use demomakers, use windows resources in 64k intros blah blah.

The scene should be about being creative and having fun and to hell with the "rules" if what you're doing makes you happy. It's not we;re getting paid to be sceners and someone can fire you or make you redundant for not obeying the rules.
you all are released

If a demo isn't coded in machine language it isn't worth watching.
I'm the one with more beer at the moment, at least that's what alcohol tests say! Theorically, I'm so drunk I couldn't write...
