Cool 3D projection onto the side of buildings

category: general [glöplog]

Worth a quick look, some vaguely demo-ish effects.
I like the fish!

I have to ask a friend of mine to upload pictures he took recently.
We have an archive tower here and it's all night lighten with different colors, cube style and when you take many pictures and assemble them, it's really looking like a demo!
Dude, that's totally awesome!

knl: Did you ever try asking whoever maintains it if you could code for it?

The ending of the first video is plastic-like :). The rest is just... whoa. Do want.
Sick..

Wonderful!

The big projections are impressive for sure, but I espacially like the smaller ones, like the cute little fishes on the sidewalk. So sweet!

Seriously, I would love to do a liveset on the top of this building and have these lights glitching to my clicks!
Zest: "Marketroids"? Assuming you were talking about the first video, which I also posted on the oneliner some time ago, they're doing this for commercial purposes (it's their demo reel, duh).. And as is apparent from the video, they've been hired for marketing already.

AltParty already had the fogscreen thingy, how about a wild compo for these types of projections next year? ;)

You really want mfx to submit something?
break: their demoreel is still very poetical and unbranded... i was thinking of huge coca-cola or apple commercials projected on buildings. (probably already done in NY or LA)

I've personally done some things like that in the past... believe me, it does not look half as good from -any other- viewing angle than the one they recorded the video from.

There are still plenty of nice things that can be done with projecting. I've done projecting unrolled visuals over huge-sized cones or cylinders, and over big round balloons which do look indeed great... parallax visuals over sand screens and some other nifty tricks.

The setups are not easy or cheap though, and there are not many companies that want to pay for them :)

Zest: you missed the part which was obviously promoting a car?
