Kudos to Aceman for doing this, btw. I'll definitely try to make something, can't come empty-handed :).

nah, you CANT !
you´re lucky me taking part in a different music-compo :P

kudos to aceman tho...imma spawn in when you do it again in 2010 :)
awwwwright! keep your pantyhose on - it wasn't on the site and it didn't happen at all last year, so it didn't occur to me that it might be there this time

good to know!

well, if you know that there is such a compo, why don't you simply look on the page? geez :P
Saga and his crazy suggestions! :P

uh... wait. oldschool MODs at 100% separation, modern stuff at 50% what kind of sense is THAT supposed to make?

kb's right, 100% stereo sep on 4ch modules is absolutely horrible. Two channels hard left and two hard right is crazy. Also I hope the amiga compos won't be like that this year, it's even worse when the speakers are 20 meters apart.

Oldschool MODs could sound better in mono than with 100% separation.
Try mono or 50% and everybody will be happier!

esau, we normally run the amiga compos with 50% separation actually.

ryg: wrong thread, but would it be possible to have a mono option for amiga demos/intros? Easiest way to do it would be to record the compo-video in mono I guess (no need to remember individual panning for the sound guys)

indeed, 50% would be better.
@esau: no, not crazy at all. it is i who created those recommended playsetting list and i say you that it is exactly the way amiga plays all of mod files. sorry, i didn't fabricate that.

lamb: yes, of course I know that, but anyone with healthy ears would want to listen to amiga mods in either mono or with a small stereo separation. Every party I've ever been to (except the 2 latest Breakpoints) have run amiga compos in that fashion.

esau, wth are you talking about? we ALWAYS turned the separation down for the amiga compos.

i'm more pissed off about the XM interpolation!

kb: okay, that's good! I guess it just wasn't turned down far enough for my taste then :). I remember being annoyed at some amiga compo while sitting far left. I still would like a mono option though. That's the only way I listen to my amiga.

It would be a good idea to allow different interpolation settings. You can create presets for every single file in XMPlay which can be loaded atuomatically, so it's not a big problem.
no xrns,.
