ps: cool:)
am thinking of fixing stuff on bbs. mainly

a) adding "started on" column on the bbs.php list.

b) adding avatar icon of who wrote last reply. (as suggested by gargaj) would look something like:
|<topic name>|<no._replies>|<date_of_last_reply><avatar>|<date_of_start><avatar>|

c) making default to sort the thread by addition date instead of reply date. (while showing the new columns with more info on last reply)

comments appreciated.. needless to say, please think about it properly before suggesting anything diferent.

ok, added the stuff i had mentioned to bbs.php
and i also fixed the design on comments.php
all tested and working fine, (also added a little topic length higher then 70 cutoff so it doesnt fuck up the listing when the morons start spamming big senseless topicnames)
already moved to www.pouet.net

the list by "created date" instead of "last post date" is trickier then i was thinking so thats why i havent implemented it yet.

also, making the index.php slower then it already is just for more bbs topics related info isnt on my plans right now. maybe after i optimized it for static instead of dynamic queries which i wont do anytime soon couz its hell of hassle to get into and im busy as fuck with univ till middle june.

so, get used to typing www.pouet.net/bbs.php and www.pouet.net/comments.php on your browser instead of checking the main page and avoid the 52734214 slow queries on each refresh.

each refresh of the main page that is..

fixed that annoying extra screen oneliner.php bug.
or atleast it seems fixed.. lets see if it still fucks up closer to the page swapping limit..

like a dupe :

please delete this empty group name http://www.pouet.net/groups.php?which=2379
because this legendary group exists here and it can only be one ;) http://www.pouet.net/groups.php?which=147
i think there was another group called damage.. apparently from poland.. if i was gonna start deleting groups with no prods added to pouet i would be deleting things all night :D

The infofile of this intro is wrong. Even worse, it's from a prod that is not at pouet, from a party that is not added yet. This must be from the big crash from a few months ago, so there must be lots more.

Keep up the good work!

there has been at least 3 groups called damage on the c64, one of which is also one of the 2 groups called damage on the amiga. and yes, the one i'm talking about is the one that moved onto the pc as well. there was also a swedish (?) group called damage inc. on the c64.

so... zone is wrong, there's more than one damage, but on the other hand i don't see why people add groups without any productions?

however, if you're in the mood for separating groups, deathstar (http://www.pouet.net/groups.php?which=609) is actually two different groups. the original one is of course the (originally finnish) amiga group from '88-'89, and the other one is a pc group apparently from '96-'97.

ps, this question might seem stupid, but I am just curious:

Does the database use indexes for foreign keys? They are free, they don't break anything, and they speed up queries _alot_.

I am asking because I have seen many deployted mysql databases that don't use them.

Also, all dates in pouet are in SQL format (YYYY-MM-DD). Don't you think it would be prettier to use a human oriented format, or do you think there's going to be a debate on using the U.S./European format?

just my 2 cents.

there are some prods by virtual dreams/fairlight that have been marked as flt only:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=3202

and some that have been marked as only vd:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=1468
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=6092
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=10353
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=9265
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=1153
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=410
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=8084
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=409
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=8680
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=1154

and some that have been marked as vd & flt:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=2568
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=9828
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=7631
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=2567

and one that has been mysteriously marked as "virtual dreams & tarropithium software":
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=3057

now, since pouet doesn't officially support subgroups i'm not sure if there's a common way to do it, but at least all the prods could have the same group name(s) to them :)

to "reed richards (560)" :
Virtual Dreams is the legal Demodivision of illegal Fairlight, it's not the same group, it's like two groups, it's not a label only
certain members was in VD but not in FL, and vice versa
(it's the same for Crystal/Melon ...)

imho the best way is to assign the group name wich we can read when we see the demo : the logos wich are in the demo to respect the original authors goal.
