Psycho: From Amsterdam it's really easy to take a train to Eindhoven (I think from Schiphol as well (Schiphol != Amsterdam))

I just tried to pay my ticket at paypal - im not sure it went well. I received a paypal message on the web about a failure - but received an email with success.
Xylo and me are also going.
Got the confirmation and the car to get us from Groningen to Eersel. :D

Yeah, the trainconnection from schiphol to eindhoven seems pretty good; 85 minutes, every 15 minutes and 17€/way.

still... any seats left in the swedish cars driving almost past my doorstep?

rasmus: if you succeeded, havoc should be in touch to confirm your ticket

Also, the obligatory warning that train ticket vending machines do not accept banknotes and very much every type of credit/debit cards from abroad. Find the ticket desk or have sufficient change on you :)

Psycho: A trainride from Düsseldorf Airport to Eindhoven costs €19,70. German ticket vending machines are slightly more practical in the sense that they also accept paper money.

Rasmus: I just checked both Outline PayPal adresses, there was no transfer received on either one of them. Please doublecheck the address used, and in case of doubt, shoot a regular e-mail first to which I will reply ASAP.

Heh, at last years Outline me & 216 had to pay 36 euros in *coins* to get tickets to Eindhoven from those stupid piece of crap NS ticket machines. This year I have OV-card, so I'll get off lot easier :D

jenni: i would go to the ticket desk instead of plunging so many coins ;) or well, actually, i'd probably go by car instead, to be totally honest :)

as discussed on IRC- if you make it to eindhoven, getting to eersel will be (made) possible too, somehow :)

A couple of 128-byte questions:
Is an Amiga bootblock where only the first 128 bytes are used (i.e. the remaining 896 are zero) eligible for the 128-byte compo?
Is WinUAE permitted as platform for a 128-byte compo entry, or at least acceptable as proof that it would run on the real thing?

I'm coming by car so I could probably pick up two guys if I'm already in the area when you want to get picked up. Eersel - Eindhoven probably has a decent busconnection.

blueberry: for 128byte entries, any format/container is acceptable, as long as it's objectively verifiable that the actual program is no longer than 128 bytes. example: atari st executables have a standard 32 byte header, so an atari st 128byte intro is (usually) 160bytes long on disk.

winuae is an acceptable platform for 128byte entries. we will announce what system or emulator an entry runs on during the compo. if it also runs on another system or emulator this can be announced through the comments from the author, the rest is up to the voters.

The train ticket machines at Schiphol actually *do* accept credit cards now!!!

wow, schiphol actually made the jump to the 21st century? :)

Now I'm doubting, but I'm really sure I saw machines yesterday that accepted credit cards.

okkie: don't be fooled by machines and good intentions! In denmark we have had credit card "Park-O-Meter"'s for almost 5 years before they actually went functional :)

maytz, they're still not working here...

if you know what train you are going to take you can also get an e-ticket:

and it seems all ticket machines now accept credit / debit cards!

okkie: as far as I can see the tickets are valid for the whole day, so no problem there.. I also thought it would be easier than all those tales about coin machines - until I figured out you can only pay online by bank transfer!!

Well, it seems all machines accept credit cards now! So no worries :)

Okkie: They've been saying that and have labeled their machines as such for years, so I'm somewhat suspicious about the validity of that claim. Most locations have ticket desks anyway, so hey...
